What is IR (infrared?)

I saw single and two channel infrared transmitters mentioned in a Backyard flyer mag and just was wondering what the scoop is!
Just ordered my first indoor flyer, the Skeeter hawk and hope to explore the world of indoor rc!

Apparently the Ztron equipment is not available at the present. There is a shortage of transmitters. He is reported to be saving his remaining equipment for a few old customers. It would be neat if someone came out with IR equipment again, or Ztron was able to bring them to market again.

IR Tx

There is a cunning plan afoot, to use a converter so we can use a std. R/C Tx.
When I get it I will test it and report back.
This was designed so you can have the functions of a computer R/C Tx
Its not very expensive either .... not compared to a R/C computer Tx anyway!

If this works out Ok, well then you really are in trouble !
No excuss for flying WW2 mono planes weighing more than 14g and twins more than 20g - cheap too so 25 planes each !

Next step is 1.5g six channels R/F Rx

does 6 into 1.5 go?

The IR buddy box is a good idea and very simple and hence should be cheap, IR does have it's disadvantages but it is very cost and weight effective!

p.s. I am now moved, thank god!
