I have been bogged down with conventions, fly-ins, club business and other projects. I will be getting started on my EB kit soon though.

Pat,

if you can go with something higher thant 2200mAH. Or your flight would be rather short as the motor draws around 40A.

Overall, a very good kit.

Hi Chewy. Any guess at the speed? Thanks,

While the new GWS fan + new GWS motor might be a fine choice when it's available,

any good quality 69mm fan (WeMoTec Minifan, Het-6904 fan, ...) combined with a good quality brushless inrunner (Het-Rc 2w, Mega 16/15 2-turn, Kontronic 400-42, ...) with a 40+ Amps esc (Jeti, CC, ...) will work fine and will last you years if you treat it right

WeMoTec, Het fans can be ordered here for ex:

http://www.warbirds-rc.com/Store/df.html

and het-rc brushless inrunner DF motors here:

www.ejf.com

Hope this helps, hwh

Hi, did do you by any chance know what the amp draw is on the Himax fan and motor? Can it take 4S? It sounds like it might be a decent option.

Thanks,

Andy

Amp draw is right at 33 to 34 at 828 grams of thrust
Flew very nicely
No 4 cell with the hi-maxx
I substituded a same size AON motor today and popped a 4 cell in it and wow!
She really hauls the groceries around now
very important though
The stock GWS exhaust is WAY to large
I made a thrust tube and tapered it down to right about 2 inches and definately picked up more
I would bet that would help the stock fan a ton

Pat,

Thanks for the info. One month to wait isn't bad at all. If it drags on too long I may end up buying the NPS version and putting a motor and prop in the back. The Grayson Hobby super park jet motor has a pitch speed of 98 rpm at 32 amps for $30. That would be some cheap speed without the wow factor of an EDF.

Mr. Lin, According to caliberhobby they do not have the powered version in stock.

Since the J-10 NPS kits ready to go, but that time we still busy to find motor performance better.

So, the kits were loaded into container to go...

While we are waiting motors ready then to go by EMS or air freight.

But look like we are unable to ship motors before Chinese New Year.
