blueplane,

I was talking about the new motor GWBLM009A which came with EB J-10. It works great with EDF75 at 11.1V. But it's impossible to make 2000 watts on this setup.

I won't say that you need any machining.
I have the 2.5 turn and it gives me 250W using a 2200MAH 25C TP.

Latinflyer.
The new GWS motor supplied with my Early Bird J-10 Drew 44.2 Amps at 11.2 volts and this is 495 watts. The battery used was a Loong Max 2250 mAh 25 C 3 cell pack.

please supply RPM for the fan at the given voltage, if everyone can post RPM and the voltage/amperage it was taken at we can get an idea of how well each fan is running and create a baseline.

Once I get my new 60 Amp ESC I will be able to make more runs to get RPM readings. I expect the new ESC to arrive early next week.

No matter how others said, pretty soon that you will find out that you should take off her without too worry!

With any GWS motor, you can take off from ground!

- I haven't checked here in a while (busy).

Re the various questions posed earlier, I am using a set of airpower micro-retracts. The kinda work, but one leg was not going up down smooth, an air cilinder exploded so had to be re-glued and the airtank has two leaks at 80 psi. Other than that they work fine . I am waiting for replacements.

All the surfaces and most of the fuse is covered in silkspan, applied with elmers white glue. Paints are tamiya water based acrylics.

I am using a WeMoTec MiniFan 480 because that's what I had. The Het fan might work too. The HW-609 uses a 36mm motor so that will make the J-10 heavy as a lead brick. The MF480 is good to 1000+ Watts. I think this plane is very light and should fly very well on 400+ Watts.

I managed to get the CG right (as per instructions) by moving the fan something like 2 inches back (see my pictures above). So I don't need any lead in the tail. My weight rtf is 47.5 oz. Power wot is around 850W but I plan to mostly just cruise around at 1/3-rd throttle.

I had to do major canopy work to get all my applieances to fit . I also spent some time programming the radio (Fut 9C s) and the canard mixing. I think the aileron and canard throws in the instructions look like way too much, at least for the first flight.

I might fly it this weekend.

.
Hi Herb,
Thanks for your advice.
Mine will be a bit lighter than yours because
I do not use the retracts.

I keep trying for a maiden but it has been constant rain here in socal
Could have done it today but had to work and afterwards it was kinda windy and I counted 15 + aircraft in the air at my flying field
I'll wait a bit longer
Thanks for the compliments
This plane looks great and is definately an attention getter

Rain what rain ??

I maidened mine today, the nosegear tended to dug into the mud, so I handlaunched. It flew fine, it was a tad nosehavy and needed a couple of clicks of up. I had hoped it would be a bit faster with 800+W . It lands nicely.

Hi all,

I had the maiden flight today. It flew well, although not particularly fast I am using the stock fan/motor with a 2250mAH 25C 3S lipo. I was hoping to use the 3300 mAH 3S 20C but it was too big and too heavy. As it is, the cg is right where the manual says (80mm+/-). No uptrim was needed and just a few clicks of left trim.

I had the canard coupled to both the elevator and ailerons. it follows the elevon movements except in reverse for elevator movements. The test pilot who flew it thought the turning was a bit weird this way and asked me to decouple the canard from the ailerons. What do you think?

Sorry, I have no video camera and only a pretty slow digital camera. The flight pictures are pretty bad.
