BTW, both this plane and the A-4 definitely have a "presence". I'm not used to GWS planes this big!

I have gotten used to the increased span of the newer Warbirds but the bulk of the J-10 fuselage has surprised me.

Hi Blueplane,

The manual on GWS web site was telling the performance of GWBLM009, the old motor, same as what was on EB A-4 one. All EB J-10 kits come with GWBLM009A (BL-2815-2A), the better motor. All coming J-10 and A-4 powered version kits will be with this motor.

Hi Pat,

Just stick with 3S 11.1V 25C 2000mAh Lipo pack if you have to power GWS EDF75.

Chen,

Thanks for the reply. I had a choice between a 3S 2200 pack or a 4S 2200 pack (set up in 4S2P). I will stick with 3S to start with. I can always drop the 4S in later if I want to try that.

My building has begun. No thread yet. I will start one once I have made some progress and taken pics.

Ken,

You have it exactly right. This time it's not about wingspan, but fuselage "bulk". These planes are big! Much larger in scale than the F-15.

I am worry about the wing ,it is alot thinner. than the A-4. The alierons at the tips are very flexiable.I guess it will be faster .

Dont use a 2000 mah pack.

My 25C 2170 pack has bad voltage sag. 40 amps or more will pull it down to 9.6 volts. The pack won't last long like that and power is way down.

If run more than 80% of C ratings a lipo will sag under load and pack life diminishes quickly!

Lol, I suspect Caliberhobby is holding back shipment of NPS J-10's until the EB's get thier kits at thier front doors.

Bad move.

The concept of Earlybird was getting a sample ahead of the main production curve... if you can't fulfill that offer, then don't make an EB offer at all... and certainly don't compensate by delaying the general release date.

... and no, a free motor doesn't make the $50 shipping okay.

Sloppy way to release a much anticipated product. Rant off.

We just try to let EB get the best New Gen. 4th 2815-II RED BL motor.

Do you want to get a 580g thrust? or you like to have an 800+g new motor? Yet, still free to go with EB kit for those who support GWS very much.

I said: You can choice that you no need a motor for free.

On my first test runs my Loong max 2250 mAh 3S1P 25C Lipo battery is delivering 44 Amps at 11.2 volts. That is 3 minutes running at WOT. I was surprised that I got such a high amp draw as I was expecting 35-40 amps. So I have just ordered a 60 Amp ESC and this will slow down my build.

Ken,

The old BL-2815 motor could power GWS J-10 well, and only draw 36A at WOT. We did the same on the prototyped ones at GWS.

I am testing an AASAN 2.4 Gh module combo in my GWS 109. This will probably be fitted to my J-10.

I keep wanting to reach down to extend the Tx antennae but the idea of not having to wait for a frequency is catching on in my Club.

Has anyone tested the new fan and motor yet? How about balancing, is it loctited on like the old ones?

Chen or Mr Lin, do you have a date when you expect these to be available separately in the USA?

Thanks,

Andy
