looks like your elevator rate is a bit high. (just my noob opinion) I crashed mine today alot worse then that!

That is great.
Not sure about the pitch rates... looks to me like you need some nose weight. That short-period oscillation is fairly typical of flying wings that are near neutrally stable. For test flights, it is good to error on the side of extra nose weight for a rock-solid, stable airplane. It will help those porpoise landings too. Just watch out for the tip-stall when testing flying wings. Tip-stall-> spin-> crunch.

lol yeah, first off, the DX7 radio I was using was borrowed. So I was not familiar with it at all. The dual rates were set... but the switches were not set correctly by me prior to taking off. The result, Elevator was on HIGH rates, Aileron was on LOW rates. My mistake.

As for the "porpoising" that is caused by the the thrust angle pushing the nose down and me trying to keep it level "manually" with the sticks. Then, I trimmed it for powered flight. So the elevons were countering the power on nose down condition. That is what caused the power off climb issue.

So, its all just a matter of getting the thrust angle right, then getting the elevons set 'neutral" then getting the CG dialed in.

The cg is currently set about 1-2" forward of where it should end up. So, its already set nose heavy, just a bit.

That is wicked cool! I think programming expos into your elevons would definitely add some smoothness to the controls.

Yup that was exactly what I was thinkin Bill. I probably should have done a "go around" but, well, I didnt. Then again, considering the only damage was to the temporary landing gear... no big deal really.
