Thats awesome.

I bet as soon as someone in the industry see's this they will look at putting aeroplanes into real firework displays.

I put the Hobbycity glow strip LEDs into a 48-inch EPP combat wing. Kudos to Chimaera for coming up with the idea to cut a slit and insert the LED strips sideways into the foam. This makes installation super simple and quick. Cut off a segment of LEDs (they cut apart in groups of three, in between the sets of solder tabs). Solder on two wires to connect a segment to the previous segment, cut a slit in the EPP and slide the LED strip down into the foam. If you want pinpoints of light and brighter diffusion on both sides of the strips, put in a second strip facing the other way. Couldn't be easier. Cut a very shallow strip in between the segments so the wires can also be embedded to reduce drag. Once I finished the lights, I covered the wing with clear 3mil laminate that lets the light shine through brightly. I suppose you could also use transparent or transculent monokote.

It's washed out on the pics, but the bottom has pinpoints of light that are much brighter and crisper than the top. Also, the top has a light strip by each wingtip that lights up the wingtips as well as adding sparkle whenever you see the top of the wing.

Yeah, I have a suggestion... wait for it to get dark out. Dusk is not dark enough.
