Here are some pictures shot of an Albatross and Pelican (by Crashtesthobby)
Camera is a Canon S5-IS 8meg
Exposure time was 15 seconds with an f-3.5

I have done time exposures before but not with planes using a digital camera.

What we did
Put the camera on a tripod
Fly around the sky and try to figure out where the camera sees before starting the exposure.
Don't get too far away because the intensity and size fades quickly.
Start with the plane at the top of the frame so you are not slowing down as you climb.
Try to cover the frame with your stunts.

Slow Stick built LED and RGB circuits

This is a GWS Slow Stick with the brushless motor. Other than adding the lighting, wiring, controllers and 1300mah battery to drive it all, I also beefed up the landing gear to better handle the additional weight. The tail wheel needs to be strengthened even more - the plane swerves left after landing when the tail wheel wire flexes. Other than that, it flies great and the lights are fantastic. LED lighting from AfterDarkLED at www.afterdarkled.com.

I don't think so. I know my little Canon will take video like that if I set it right (or wrong, depending on how you look at it)

Not at all. I actually took that video with a $40 keychain camera. I wasn't planning on making a postable video from it. Then the idea struck me to try the light trails thingy as an experiment.

I actually created the effect in post-processing, in Premiere.

Here is a little video from the Keychain #16D cameras.
When you are flying line of site both planes have to keep turning back stay in range making lining up the planes a little difficult.
This would be a lot easier with FPV and pan and tilt cameras.

Wow that video looks pretty good at night for a keychain cam. How does the #16D do with light transitions in daylight? I have an older one (not sure what #) but it's horrible with light transitions, stays dark too long and too often. I've been wanting to get a better one though since I've been joining up with the buzzards and geese lately with the Eflite Apprentice .

Wow that looks great, gonna order one tonight or tomorrow. My older keychain cam ate tree today is now all out of focus so that ought to get me ordering . I guess the #16 (D) is the "wide-angle" version of the #16 cam?
Ide like to get into full FPV flying but can't afford all that right now. I'm making all size from 250 up Heli night blades if anyone wants to trade anything FPV to get me started for a set of night blades. Just click on my name to check out my blog. Tim
