Could any of you post the wiring diagrams for LED running lights? I'm thinking of doing them sometime but I don't know how to properly wire them.

Many thanks for all this, which is very helpful. But I have another question. My ESC requires red and blue wires to be connected to yellow and green wires on the motor. Can you please tell me how to pair them?

connect them as you want...

depending on how you connect the wires the motor will spin in one direction or the other when you move the stick on you TX to forward.... when the motor spins the wrong direction, just change the esc to motor wire connections...

Motor Reversing Switch

Here's the wiring for a drive motor reversing switch if you have a spare channel on your transmitter. I used a truck type heavy duty toggle switch and toggle it with a servo and pushrod attached to the toggle lever with a spring "servo saver" setup. To change from forward to reverse, go to throttle off position, operate the reversing channel and throttle up in the desired direction. Boats don't steer well in reverse and take some time to react due to lack of prop blast on rudder(s). Reverse is mostly helpful in docking including stopping the model to prevent plowing into the dock.

reversing switch

I like the idea of a reversing switch for things like bow thruster, sail winch etc controlled by a servo. A toggle switch will require a good amount of energy. Has anyone experimented with that idea? Did take a slide switch apart & remove the ball that gives it it's snap but feels like a common servo wouldn't have the torgue either. Anyone try that? Am I barking up the wrong tree? MSD has the device that would do it but a lot of money.

put a microswitch in the rudder assembly so as you throw the rudder over, it breaks connection with the inboard motor.

another nav light set up that enables you to have a switched circuit

note one negative supply

please note:

the red wire simply crosses over the black between its split and the RC switch

depends on what the amp pull is, on the first page are several diagrams.

if you have a 4+ chan radio, go the twin esc route, if you have a two chan radio you could get away with 1esc.

diagrams found on page 1 of this thread
