Water cool a Air cooled engine?????

Hi all
I admit im a electric guy mainley but i have a nice large boat hull gaging for masive sound and wake so i started 2 think i have a couple of spear 'aero' engines one irvine 46 n a 48 engine is it possable to put a water cooled head on them or a water cooling jacket it would save me buying a new engine also what size hull can a 46/48 engine propell
Help will be much appreciated
Thanks again

Check the engine manufacturers websites, they may have a watercooled head / jacket as a spare you could swap the air cooled version for.
Its also possible to make a watercooling 'coil' to wrap round the air cooled cylinder from Ali tube..
I suspect a new watercooled motor might be the easier option though..

it should be, though it might help if you pick up a tube or tin of heat sink compound (that nasty white grease used for electronics) and put a thin layer on the coil before you wrap it 'round the head. it'll help improve the heat transfer a bit, albeit a bit messy.

I woulden't trust it. Head temps in a boat get hot fast! I've always used water jacketed engines in all my boats. You need DIRECT water contact with the engine for proper cooling.
