Hi all,
Thanks for you guys to focus on our new Salto H101. The prototype's video is using a 10mm Steel rod but we found it is too heavy and the factory changed it to 10mm CF rod aleady. The wing is quite strong, no flexi at all and the fuselage is much much bigger than the DG-1000 and ASW-28!! Thus, the weight of this box is more than 4kg and that's why it has a higher shipping cost. Here are some photos of the Salto Albert |

"Shipping to our neck of the woods is $47 and change so delivered price is around $215. It's coming from Hong Kong. I already sent Alan the link; I know he's looking for a Salto too, and the price is right!"
O ,sure, Al and Raul make me order another airplane(at least thats what I'll tell the wife). Looks like I'm going to order a Salto.Alan |

Not another model...
Ohhhh damn! Not another plane!?!
I finally received the replacement canopy from i-care for my Baudis Salto - and it's incomplete!!! They didn't send the canopy frame - just the clear part. I need the framed canopy with the hinge & latch, etc. Just what anyone would need if they were ordering a replacement canopy.., D'oh!!! I'm going to wait to see your models, but she does look intriguing. I'm surprised they prefer a lighter joiner - my Baudis Salto "came alive" when I switched from the 10mm Carbon Fiber to the Steel Rod joiner. Can't wait to see the first one up on "our little hill", LOL! Cheers! Raul |

I just bought one of these Salto's, $215USD delivered to Canada. Not bad at all.
Going to make up a steel joiner for higher wind conditions, E-207 is a good choice for this ship and I'm thinking of putting in an aerotow setup in. Looking forward to flying this. T.D. |

Lots of room for motor, batteries etc. If anyone does it I hope they post the results. T.D. |

rowledge, My sister in law lives in Parksville and I go over quite often, I've looked at the hill just above the water\street in Qualicum a few times and thought about throwing a plane off.
Have you ever tried it or is there another sloping spot nearby? T.D. |

We have a 5 meter (Bill Hamilton) with a turbine on the back) and a 4 meter( Marks) with a prop in front..
http://www.dac.org.au/Beta/On_the_We...t_101107_1.jpg both fully moulded. The turbine clocked 350kph on a speed run on full blast

"Ive never seen a fullsize Salto with a propeller???" So?
These are toy airplanes we are flying here, it's about fun and for me it's about maximizing the time I have available for me to fly my toy airplanes in the face of a schedule that gets tighter all the time. If a motor increases that enjoyment time by letting me go to the big park near my home instead of driving an hour to the slope then it's a good thing. Pretty sure I'm going to be electrifying this Salto, I'll post photos' if I do. Martin, that is a very clean install in the photo you posted. Some years ago I had the opportunity to fly a 4 metre Rowing LS-6 that had one of the larger Plettenberg motors in the nose, at the time I was a bit of a glider snob and thought it un-pure to desecrate a sailplane like that...until I flew it that is, what a blast! I'm really looking forward to getting this Salto in the air. T.D. Last edited by Tony D.; Dec 07, 2007 at 10:07 AM. |

Boy's.....it's all good! How you get it up doesn't really matter......what matters is that you have fun with it while it's up!

And *that* is why I'd consider sticking an electric motor in the front of this salto; it's the only way I can enjoy flying one. If that offends you - well tough luck. I'm sure there is a chance your choice of politics, religion, fashion, vehicle, food or tv viewing would offend me. |
