Haha an ASW DSing now that's a sight!

Alright so we got 2 so far.. I think Philip said he wanted one. Not sure about Greg...there should've been one other person cause I think the count was 5. Any idea who it was?

We're going to place an order from hobby lobby this week probably so I'll have us order however many you guys are going to want and then we'll probably end up stocking like 2 of them in store to see how they sell.

What'a we call that, FWF (flexy wing fettish)? Kind'a resembles the the mini-Salto on the darkside, super flexy.

Robert, I appreciate your concern. However, even hobby lobby said that the ASW28 is better than their DG1000 and there was an ASW at the slope yesterday which I was able to look at and see it fly and I was quite impressed. Looked very good and flew very well.

Flying Tomorrow (Tuesday)

Anyone going out to Blossom tomorrow? I think I'll be heading out there around 2 or 3.. that's subject to change though.

Also, I'd like to know who all is going to want an ASW by wednesday so that I can place an order with hobby lobby through my store. Can probably have the airplanes by Friday or next Tuesday at the latest if I order them on Wednesday. You guys would just have to pick them up at Discount Hobbies.

So far I have me, James, Philip and Greg.

Nice to hear from you Brian! I havn't flown there since just after the fires... how's the ground cover? Nice and grassy? Is the fence still up or are the trails to the slope open now? 15mph sounds nice!

The lift was really nice out at Blossom yesterday on the frontside... the Blossom backside spot was spotty, seemed a little light without any lift past the ridge and not enough to get any good DS going, but the frontside had some awesome thermals and lots of air going up! We had a pretty full sky at one point with Alex, Phillip, Greg, Mike, myself, some other guys, and a couple paragliders/hangliders.

Thanks James. I've been busy with my son, 7 months old now. It was nice to get out on the slope though.

The fence is still up but it seems that a new trail has been made around it. The hill has returned to its old ways. Thick brush, not as thick as before the fires but it still enough to soften hard landings.

Sounds like you guys had fun. I've

Hey Guys,

I just arrived in San Diego on Sunday. What an awesome place! I'm almost over the jet lag and really keen to get out for a fly.

Can you guys recommend some local slopes for me to check out? They'd have to be "public transport friendly" because I don't have a car.

Also I brought a half finished 48" combat wing with me. I've already coloured it with spray paint and tinted goop. I'm really keen to try out this clear "new stuff" covering. Does anyone know where I can pick some up from? I only need enough to cover the one plane.

Thanks,

Jordan

Torrey Pines is a must see--you need to contact a Gulls member to be "checked out" to fly, though. Locally, Poway is a great place to DS, and Blossom Valley is popular for the front side. For casual coastal flying, North Torrey Pines is nice, or Carlsbad if you are more north.

I have a roll of 3 mil and 10 mil "new stuff" if you would like to try some.
