OK guys let's get one thing straight- sloping is fun, great fun in fact. but it rarely involves the amount of beer nor numbers of young ladies screaming a rugby game attracts.

Although, during the spring and summer months Dave's beach can be a very nice place to be!

He had the only chevron entered last week so we placed him with the weasels, this Sat he will have to fly with his own kind!!!!

Where is the Burly Electrician? I thought for sure he would be racing weasels with us.

The Burly Electrician's business is booming, he's raising his granddaughter while her mom 'n' dad are in Iraq and the lawn needs mowed amongst other mundane chores such as rebuilding the back yard, fixing the clothes washer, taking down 3000 Christmas lights, going to Arizona fly-ins and the AMA Convention, planning the flying venues and LipoSack booth for RCX this year and slowing down every now and then to play with a newfound interest in EDFs. Otherwise...

I am unofficially changing the name of Dave's Beach to Dave's Beach Park

GRASS BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just drove by Dave's Beach at lunch and the City/State sprayed hydroscape over the entire dirt area of Dave's Beach!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No more 30 grit landings, but soft cushy grass landings!!!

We will see how it grows, but it sure looked cool just with the green hydoscape sprayed on it!

Man that stuff wont grow.. People walk all day long on that stuff. Good idea though. Please bring water bottles to water it They have tried this plenty of times it will be dirt in 2 weeks.

Too bad they can't just put down some of the artificial turf. I doubt anything would ever last there with the foot traffic and planes "landing" on it all the time.

Hmmm, I wonder if we should start a turf fund? What's that stuff called? I think LT advertises it.

JIm I'm just sure the commifornia coastal commission would go for that...

Welcome Gosta! Like Greg says, come on out and introduce yourself around. I'll bring my extra radios and buddy cord and get you some stick time if you'd like. This is a great hobby/sport/pass time so watch out for the big hook! There are a couple great slopes close to you so once your ready to get your own set up you'll have good places to fly.

I'm the guy in the HURL thread pictures with the ugly red white and blue M60 (www.northcountyflyingmachines.com). Think there's a post-race-pilot-meeting-picture showing me next to my plane on the ground using one foot to scratch the sore shin that I just hit while making the rushed pilot meeting landing The one where I had everyone convinced that I landed it upside down...on purpose. (it flipped upside down after hitting my shin).
