Here's a few pictures from Blossom yesterday...

We had a really cool meeting with an eagle. At one point I was hovering my mach dart with the eagle up high, but no one got pictures of that event.

Looks like a good time. Nice shots of the feathered companion. The Alula really looks like fun...I have an order in for a Weasel (but given the current delay, I'm debating switching the order to an Alula...or maybe just wait...can't decide.

What WERE you doing with that transmitter?

Dale

Here's a few pictures from DSing at Blossom today. I ballasted up my moth and man I wish I had a gun on me cause I was haulin! I have never seen it DS that fast before, and I was actually getting the wings to flex a little bit. I added 8 slugs of ballast... gonna weigh those to find out how much I added.

Lift on the frontside was phenomenal and made it totally worth the heat. Everyone had a blast as usual and I came home with all planes in one piece, although my alula has a weird jittering servo on the left wing. Gonna have to figure that one out.

We also got some video of a few laps at the DS spot, unfortunately a few minutes after the camera got put away I was having my fastest laps of the day. The video is uploading to vimeo right now and I will be posting it when it's done.

Cool thing I noticed in the last two pictures... they were taken on two different laps but it looks like the plane was going on the exact same flight path.

I'm headed out to Blossom again very shortly. Forecast is promising a nice stiff breeze which should cover up the heat, and it's also promising dead west soo the DS should be great! I'm real excited. Just gotta get some lunch ready and pack the car then I'll be heading out.

I was planning on going out there too... but besides not wanting to fry my brain in the triple digit heat, I didn't have time to get my planes all charged and ready this morning before heading in to work

Nice DS circuits Alex... looks like you've been getting some good practice. Are you trying to DS the other direction (behind you in this video) diving in from the north and punching out in the same area (just about where the rocks are at)? You might find it actually goes a little faster that way...

Have fun, be safe, drink lots of water!

Nuts to Blossom. I'm going to Torrey where there's at least a chance of a cool(er) breeze.
