Congrats Alex,
I went to both Prescott and Daytona campuses. Prescott is much nicer. Its a great place, try to limit your time at Whiskey row downtown!

Thanks guys

I still need to see where else I get accepted to because financial aid will be a major factor in my decision. ERAU tuition is going to be about $36,000/year and I think I qualify for about $9,500/year in aid from the school directly. However, I will need to get other scholarships to help cover the rest. I'm not sure how much my family can afford, but I believe it's close to $5-7,000/year.

If I end up there it will be challenging to fit a decent amount of airplanes in the dorm... maybe I could get some kind of storage unit, or better yet, if there was a local sloper in town I could see if he had some extra space...

I was riding my bike down at Lake Murray a few minutes ago and saw some turkey vultures sloping off of the east facing slope there... when all of a sudden I spotted an RC glider on the ridge with them! It was some kind of R/E polyhedral wing glider, built up balsa with a conventional X tail. I wonder who it was... I think I'm going to head up there tomorrow between school and work and see if I can't toss my weasel out there for a few hours. The slope looks to be park and fly off of Dwane Ave.

If the sun weren't about to set I'd go see if I could catch up with whoever this was flying at Lake Murray.

Fun to know that there's someone sloping so near... not to mention I'd looked at this very slope before on Google Earth and thought "hey that'd be a good local east wind slope" and to see someone actually using it is very entertaining to me.

If you're out there, make yourself known oh mysterious lake murray sloper!

My Parents live 5 minutes away from Lake Murray, I should try the spot.
If you believe the forecast, tomorrow should be an "Elm Street" Day.

Where is this Elm Street that you speak of?

NOAA forecast still says easterlies 10-15 until 1 pm and then it's gonna switch back to west winds. I'll be showing up at this lake murray spot around noon probably and won't have to leave until about 2:45 or 3 so we'll see how it turns out. Probably bring the Weasel and the Moth, maybe Prairie Dog too.

Sean,

That's way cool. What a coincidence! I go to Blossom quite a bit actually... what do you fly out there normally? Maybe we've met and I just don't remember.

I'll be at the Lake Murray spot tomorrow around noon if you'd like to join me. Blossom is a likely spot for Sunday too... or maybe Poway.

Is anyone else going to show up at Poway this weekend? Jim? I'd like to not have to hike up there... maybe get someone to unlock the gate?

I was definitely there on Sunday with that huge furball. I had soo much fun. My wing was the black and yellow one with stripes on top and stars on bottom. I also had a Moth, a Weasel, and a Blizzard that flew that day. Didn't get to toss out the Mach Dart though. Which plane were you flying?

You should have come up and introduced yourself! We try to stay friendly on the hill.

Did you have that conventional tailed plane that kept going after my wing? Haha I had some fun with that one...
