That's good to hear David... I've only flown Palomar college hill in a west wind. The backside (east slope) is definitely steep enough for some sweet slopin with the kind of winds we had today.

I flew up at Lake Elsinore with my buddy Tony, Mike and Scotty showed up later and there were about ten hangliders and a couple of full scale gliders enjoying the tons of lift. I'll post some video later.

Hows the landing spot at Elsinore? I am going to need a spot that is a bit friendlier than Palomar College when I finish the Spider 60 Im building. Its too pretty to use the bushes to land in. (I am sure that I will get over it really quickly) looking forward to some video of Elsinore!

I was going tandem and he didn't let me take hold of the straps to fly the chute at all. I'd like to go solo but I don't have the time or money to go through the training.

There is a little grass if I remember correctly (probably not for long with this weather) and more across the road. Mostly bushes though and hard pack in the immediate area.

Hi Gents-

This is Tyler from SD. Just getting back into RC gliders after a 15 year break! I live in SD near SDSU and work in Escondido. I am finishing a vintage Ridge Rat and an old Combat Models A10 and working on a few other projects.

I am looking for some cool places to fly other than Torrey. Where is Blossom? Are people still allowed to fly at Poway? Any other spots or advice? How is the spot in Encinitas that the Gulls fly at?

Any help and advice greatly appreciated!

Torrey is a west wind only spot so I have been looking around for slopes facing other directions. Mt. Soledad Cross has a huge canyon pocket that faces NW (280 - 360) ... trouble is the radio towers cause interference with my 72mhz radio. When it's windy I see families of crows swooping in to do aerobatics, a whole gaggle of them ==== I'm jealous! Charles Lindberg used to soar off this peak back in the day ... launch Torrey and go to the scoop. I am about to try this spot with a 2.4 ghz system. I'll send out my moth on 2.4 today and get back to you guys

Hello Tyler, Poway is my favorite spot for frontside and DS. Nowadays it is a 10 minute hike up a fire road, but it is definitely a nice spot.

Going over to Wireless Way at Qualcomm Mira Mesa. Good NW blowing. Had a HUGE thermal full of crows and seagulls go over a little bit ago.
