RBC Cessna O-1 Bird Dog Kit

Sent a note to RBC asking them to let me know when the 58" Bird Dog would be available. Got a prompt response and they are hoping for two months after they refine a few small issues.
See previous Bird Dog post and pictures from Max. This plane is really nice and I can't wait to get one.

However it will be Army OD, not gray when it's done.

Cost and Difficulty

I have never built one of the RBC kits but it looks pretty straight forward. Perhaps someone else could give us some insight on this.

Also do not have a cost. I believe their other kits are priced in line with others.

Gentelman,I have just purchase a kit(Ta-183) from Rbc kits.It took one month to come from the netherlands to Connecticut.I also used the western union payment method. That was a little expencive.(i thought). But anyhow the kit came in a outer box and no damage.stefanP

KOMET 44, if you haven't already, could you post some picture's of the TA 183, in the jet forum. I've been looking out for some to get one of these.

I've just recieved one of th last Beaufigthers, the kit is very well packaged, with lot's of quality cut parts, a nice builders kit. I think this may apply the the rest of there scale range. They all feature the same construction (CNC) and all have a reputation for building nice and easily. As to a price for the Bird dog, i carn't see it being anything much over 60-70 pounds (whats that in us $)

RBC Kits - building and Flying

In our club 2 of us have built/reviewed 3 of their range - AT-6, H-75 Hawk, and the Beaufighter. They all build well, although the methodology used may seem strange at first, but just trust the directions and follow the 3D drawing when in doubt.

One thing I'm sure of - Max Z. knows how to design models that build light and fly very well.

I still have an F4D kit waiting for me in the hangar, and I'm lusting after a Panther.

95.37 to 111.27 U.S. I wonder what the shipping to Seattle Washington would be on top of that? Wouldn't be to bad for this kit at that price range.

So many kind words . Let me make it clear though that only part of the RBC kits range are my designs, Rob did a sterling job on the other ones.

EAM here in North Texas shows the RBC TA-183 in stock for $119. IIRC, Dave is the RBC distributor for the US, so I would bet he will be stocking the Birddog as well. He seems to do a pretty good job of keeping the RBC stuff in stock, given the supply and shipping issues inherent in ordering from overseas.

Why not order through him?

Thanks

Guys,
Thanks for the info. I have been really busy the past several years restoring the O-1 and a RAF L-4E(J-4) that I have not been able to build and fly RC. I am looking forward to getting started again and am amazed at the progress in the electric systems. I have been out for about six years and the hobby has moved at warp speed.
