More miniflash pictures - vertical and hover attempts

Hi gang!

I had a great two flights on the miniflash today. Flying was cut short by noticing a partially broken motor mount adapter, but we managed to get some good shots of the flying I did do. These are all care of my lovely and talented wife.

Here's me just before flying. No, the SB 3D RG didn't fly today, as I forgot my ESC at home! Next time...

edit: For those of you that might wonder, these were not taken with my pencam as usual. We borrowed my dad's big honkin' digital camera such that we could zoom in for a few hopefully avatar or wallpaper worthy shots.

Vertical! I was going for a few attemps at hovering today, but the wind made it hard on me. Otherwise, I was just hoping to get some good pictures in the bright sunshine.

Vertical pull from a slow pass. I kept the vertical speed low on these for the benefit of the pictures - only 2/3 throttle

Yet another. Christine couldn't have timed these better, I think! I was hoping to get the hills in there

Here's my best imitation of a dead hover. Realistically, this was another slow climb.

Awesome pics!! Your wife did a fantastic job, I especially like the hills in the background.

Are you in Kamloops? It'd be impossible for me to live there, between Flying R/C and Flyfishing (my other passion), I wouldn't be able to hold a job.

Ron, yup... I'm in Kamloops. These hills around us are also good for slope soaring

Bob, I used the Aiptek Mini Pencam for the video. I just put it on low quality mode and started just before takeoff. It's just powered by its own AAA batteries. It seems that inflight video gives me quite good duration - that video was about 2 1/2 minutes

Martin,

Your talented wife deserves much praise for those shots! We've seen enough of your flying abilities (and photography) and considering the quality of pics that she is taking well, hand her those sticks and let's see what she can do

Great pics!

When are you going to have your video from the plane with the camera pointing forward?

BTW, congrats to your wife, great job!

Pics

Dreamer,

Very nice pics! Your photographer is doing a great job with the camera. I also especially like the hills in the bottom of the pictures.

I think this is the first time I have seen your face. Most pics are of the backs of our heads!

Thanks for the tip on how you used the Pen Cam. How did you keep it on? I have not really used the video on it.

Nice hovering, too!

Roger
