Any idea if modelhelicopters are carrying spares ? I couldn't find them in the mass of Hirobo spares, I might have to ring them and find out ...

One thing that almost worries me is it almost sounds like this flies TOO well ...Can anyone out there tell me how it compares to say a Honeybee FP ? If it's too stable then it could be like flying a Co-ax (sort of feels like cheating) .

p.s. HoverBovver, coming from the UK you know that isn't my real picture, don't you ?

I have a HBFP the SRB is quite a bit easier to fly, but still a lot more difficult to fly then the XRB. I still haven't done nose in hovering on either the Bee or the SRB

Hi,

The SRB connectors are 2-pin. The XRB uses a 3-pin connector because it is the same connector that the charger uses for balancing the XRB pack. If you check rickyblazerc.com he has ready made charger adapter cables and battery extension cables for the XRB.

Cheers,
Chapman

Vrex, you can use the Thunder Power 730mAh Lipo with the Quark and they are selling for $29.99. You will get another 250mAH which will give you more flight time and the extra weight is only 3 grams.

Here are the Specs between the two Lipos:

Thunder Power RC Pro Lite 730mAh 7.4V 2 Cell LiPO
730 mAh
34 grams
Length: 55mm
Width: 33mm
Thickness: 9.5mm

Hirobo Stock 7.4V 2 Cell Lipo
480 mAh
31 grams
Length: 61.5mm
Width: 37.5mm
Thickness: 9.2mm

You will need to purchase some Molex connectors for plugging into the stock Quark module and to make a charger adapter. I ordered these from http://digi-key.com and these are their part #'s:

WM1850-ND connector for charging cable.
WM1841-ND male contacts for the charging cable connector.

WM1845-ND connector for Lipo
WM1837-ND female contacts for the Lipo connector.

I have everything on order but if you go to the following link Harv has tried this setup with great success.

Thanks!

For you guys in the states who want to try this, I found a company where you can buy these pieces one at a time.

http://www.mouser.com/

Here are the Mouser #'s
538-43645-0200
538-43030-0007
538-43640-0200
538-43031-0007

I bought 4 of each and it cost me $3.76 + $ 6.00 shipping.

This is from another forum but it you are interested in using other batteries for the SRB all the important info is here

Thanks for the Molex info all in one spot Vrex!

I think I'll hack the SRB batt wire and use a JST connector so I can switch my TP 730 packs between SRB and XRB.

fuselage for the quark

Hello folks,

I'm new to this forum but it is very exciting for me to read all the news about our little friend. I fly the quark for about 4 weeks and I really enjoy it. In a German forum I watched a thread about the quark and somebody posted a fuselage (Hughes 300) for the quark. So after five days I also got this one ;-)
Here are two pics. Its not yet really finished ... hope you enjoy the pics.
Greetings from sunny Neuss / Germany
Christoph

Hi folks,

I've just uploaded a little video with my Quark with the Hughes fuselage. Hope you'll enjoy it ... The kit is from e-heli-shop, not from proheli ...sorry.

Glue the foam blades

Hey HoverBovver,

just glue them together. I did it several times and my Quark just flies the way before. I used two-component adhesive and after just sand it and then balance it with the little balance. But only glue these little foam blade and not other blades, this works only for foam blades !!!
Have a look at the picture ... its just great, easy, simple and much cheaper

How many blades come in a pack? Would be ok I guess if there's 5 pairs or something.

Hi HoverBovver

1 main blade pack=4X2 blades ,1 tail blade pack=4 blades.

I was very surprised that almost all parts are made in Japan, and
the packs (except for blade packs) are with the seal of the
names of the persons in charge. Blade packs are made in
china! Stabilizers are made in Japan!
