Oh no... I've long forgot about this one. It's still something I might try some day but with kids and a mortgage, I have other priorities these days. If you want to try your hand at it, go right ahead. No guarantees it will fly though
And the "Night Owl" was just a modification of the BluBaby. It flew great. I ended up giving it to a new pilot to learn on and he promptly nose-dived it into a sidewalk.

A blast from the past !
WOW, I'd forgotten all about this thread until it just popped up agian !!!
Since way back, I've recently done an Eagle with a bit of an airfoil and upswept fethers at the tips.
It's the one with V tail but mine is Super Sized to 86" span.
I did it for a guy in Michigan who is buiilding it and test flying it.
When He's done I'll get whatever changes incorporated and then he gets that one too.
I wonder how a heron head and feet would look on those wings.

II tried that one a while back and, well, I just plain under powered it.
Eventually I got in trouble and didnt have the juice to fly out of the situation and broke it.
I'd used Blue FFF and was never happy with the floppyness either.
My customer wanted this one, but around 2X ( 86" span )
You see it has a foil portion of the wing then a kind of polyhedral Tip sheet.
No word back yet, form my guy.
