It's quite a bit bigger than the Mig-15 I think beanie. I'll get an overlay pic of it. Wait 5 min.

Here's a couple of pics. That's a 4' metal rule in the second pic.
The Mig-15 was a smaller plane to start with though and my printer downsized it about 10% from your 1/8th plans beanie. But that's alright with me, still a good size and more manageable than the 86 size.

yeah, that -86 looks quite a bit bigger than the MiG. is it like that in real life, or is that the 10% shrinkage factor?

The Mig had a ws of ~33' and the 86 had ~38'. So the 86 was bigger but just not quite this much. They would have been the same scale had my printer not decreased the Mig. A print shop did the F-86 three views.

So, is the F86 a 10th scale or is it 12th scale or something totally different?
What is the wingspan measurement on the 86?

they are 1/8th scale i believe. i modified my MiG-15 plans to 1/8th per J's request to try to keep the 2 birds at the same scale.

Yep, the 86 is 1/8th. Beanie worked hard to do the same on the Mig-15 but my printer screwed it up and downsized it a little. But that will be fine, I can get more models in the truck that way.
But don't feel too sorry for the Mig, it is not small.

I got the MIG-15, 1/18th scale off the shelf and out of the box today. You can see the relative size difference with the F-86. The MIG was a little hot rod and the F-86 was a Super Sport.
The Chinese Quality Control made sure there were no stabs in my package. Too bad, nice looking model just sitting around.
I'm going to do the MIG-15 from beanie's plans at the same time as the F-86, but use different techniques. Should be interesting.

Nice models. Too bad about the horizontal stabilizers on the -15. You could make some foam ones though if you really wanted!

I got sidetracked for a couiple of days but back on it now..The wings are sheeted, trimmed and bevel cut at the root for 2" dihederal... The stabs, fins, and center sections were sheeted this afternoon and the gorilla glue is curing out now...I should be able to ship everything tomorrow...Priority Postage is rediculous so I will probbly ship Parcel Post..they say 5 day delivery..

Get a chance, post pics of your cores from Jerry. I haven't got mine yet.
I also haven't decided whether to do this fuse FG like the Mig or balsa skinned foam.
