I only used C/F on the wings and not on the deck(I forgot to do that part ). It's quite strong and hasn't failed yet. I just started runnig a LSSPJ and there's no hints of anything failing yet. I think it's gonna last a long time. It's a very good design! Thanks for all your efforts Maybz!!!!

So, Is it CF strips for the wings and horizontal stab and rods for the deck? I'm just trying to put my order together at RCFOAM. Not meaning to be dense but I've messed up a plane or two building and I really want to get this one right.

..you got it right....although rods have been known to work on the edge of depron by running a round file along the edge to produce an indentation for the rod....but I digress..!

In this case the flat or strip is being "sandwiched" between two pieces of Depron in each wing so it makes a nice strong and stiff wing. (As shown in post #125)

I use CF in my wings only , nothing across the saddle.

Got OUT today with 50+ deg temps and no wind , but still overcast.
Hard to see my BLACK planes against the clouds.

Used my data recorder while flying and determined that My F-14 set up
is only around 100watts. 3s1p 1300ma + Komodo 257, and apc6x4

Plenty speedy for me with the wings back.
Hi rate rolls are so fast I almost crashed today.

SO you guys with 150 - 200 watt motors are gonna have a REAL RIDE !
But I guess thats why your talking about all that CF lately, eh :-)

I took data on the SU-47 too and IT is up around 180 +watts
using 1700ma Komodo 283 and 7x6 prop .
Again plenty fast for me.

In this context a tilde is used to indicate "approximately equal to".

.060~.080 means .060 to .080. It signifies a range.

The correct symbol is ≈ which has an ASCII code of 247 (you can enter it by holding down the alt key and typing 247 on the numberpad).

Problem, guys. I cannot get any flat cf strips. I only have cf rods. Can I substitute them? Did you say the strips for the edge?

btw, could you please post the link to the build thread, if there is one? Thanks

Try this thread at the beginning a few pages in . I would suppose you can cut the wing in one piece or if you got the kit, don't know if they ship there, glue the two pieces together and use some CF rod instead. Just got to make sure its flush.Bud

Flat strips available at RCFOAM.com. Both their US made Avia line and the imported Chinese line have the correct size which is .039 x .236 x 39". Price is $2.75 I think.

US is a bit far for me to get the strips if I can avaoid it. Just wished I had asked Bob if he could have included it in with the pizza. Hey Bob, how about adding some looong anchovies the next time? Or would they be long mozarella strips?

And you are right, Bill! I cracked one of my F-22's in half yesterday! I knew I did somethin' major when all the trims changed right after a high speed wickedly tight loop. Got her down Ok. A little glue and a quick removal of the LSSPJ and the 4-cell LiPo(changed back to the LSPJ w/3-cell) and back in the air she went.
Pulled the same high seed loop and no probs this time. Of course, I think the speed was a little less with the smaller motor and Batt.

I do most of the flight with the F-14 with the wings swept back. I think that lessens the stress on the wings......I hope it does anyway. I'm gonna take the LSSPJ outta the F-14 as well. I think it may just be too much motor! The LSPJ's seems fast enough.

OK I'm UP NOW ! You guys have been busy over the PM !

Chewytm is my LONGEST Shipment so far - Malaysia. And it got there OK too.
Whats that say for the gorillas in the USPS ?

I'd sand/notch the mating edges of the wing pieces and use a rod.

Chewy is right I could have put some CF strip in there for him IF I'm known.
It woulld have been from my private use stock but ....

OK OK OK WHAT IS --- LSSPJ ?
Loads of Serious Sounding Pyrotechnic Junk
Large SerieS Power Jack
Lipo Safe Snow Parka Jacket
... ???

Jook glad to hear you received your Box OK as well.
