Wow, this is a neat looking build! I think I will have to fire up the printer... Hmm maybe throw in a servo reducer to slow down the transformation of the wing? Very cool...

Yeah, and lighter too. In the air you can't really tell the difference. I am coming to the conclusion that I like the profile versions of foam airplanes better. Less time to build. Easier to repair. Way cheaper to make them go fast .

I just added an assembly manual to the first thread. It is not complete but will at least give you an idea of how it goes together and in what order.
Use a good strong servo for the sweep - the HS-45 that I am currently using doesn't have enough poop to move the wing in level flight - I have to move it while in a climb or a dive. Probably need something in the 25oz/in range.

Cheers.

Thanks Leadfeather. I'll look into the idea of a printed version.

If you can do a Printed version, I'll have no choice but to build this one.

Originally I was going to do the other swing wing F-14. It looked like a lot of work so I was going to do it this winter. Your build looks much easier. With printed graphics, I won't even have to paint...second least liked task after soldering.

I agree with leadfeather said, a printed version could make your plan become the most popular for a swing wing plane.
by the way, i'm not sure the center of gravity i found, can anyone help me with the CG, please?

I hear ya. What a lazy spoiled bunch we are eh? I own one of the Shumate 6mm F-14 kits and it's beautiful - but every time I open the box I think "gee, that looks like a lot of work"

We are the ARF generation I guess.
