haha... basically its the sticker that makes it stand out! oh. when u work with the wing mechanism thing, make sure u the similar piano wire as in the build guide, i have to use the smaller ones tat i use for wing servo rod since i dun have bigger ones... maybe thats the reason y it can't open in flight...

Hey Randy !

Looking good :-)))

Nope, not finished mine, I've gotten involved in some other stuff.
My "big" motor is in and Foam built Electric Tug experiment using A123 cells.
Tug as in Tow Up a Glider !

uniquexme - wow, good job ! nice pix

at 21+ OZ I also would be careful to NOT pull too many G's on your test flight !
I'm NOT worried about the wings so much, but I am fearful
of the Top Fuse Plate attachment ( which holds the wings ON ! )
Just Foam to Foam Glue on the pivot points.

I do see you have CF Tubes in the wings.

yeah, i have 5mm tube, and the depron i m using is 5mm. top fuse attachment is fine. since uhu por hold them really well... may i ask whats the AUW of urs? maybe its my lipo which makes it heavy. i change my setup, better wait for my wattmeter to arrive and do proper propping.

bird, i oso relocate my ESC, now its attached to the outer wall of the cover... coz i think its not cooling enough even if i have those holes coz the airflow is block by the servo holding depron.

I think we all expected yours to weight more with the Big motor and
Big ESC and big Lipos.

WE also expect your's to SCREAM ! :-)))

Mine ?

Well, it's ~ 12oz ( 340 gm )
But I'm only using a single stator Komodo 257 which is small and light.
I think my esc is 18 amp Castle -bird and I use 1000-1500 lipos.

Oh and I used Black Depron which is a smidge lighter than the white.
No paint just a few decals.

i swap my power setup with my frenz modified motor, 60A ESC which is very fast in his parkjets, but then its slow on mine, so we have come to concluded that the shape of a plane makes the difference even using the similar setup.... will post my video soon as its still with my frenz....

heavy

the other one i have build "IE" 100 % have been flown with the JustGoFly 450DF 60 amp speed control and a 3200 3 cell pack or 4 cell 2200 pack..all have been very heavy, but all have flown very nice and FAST..then again big motors, speed control & heavy packs...with the wings sweeped back the thing rolls faster than you can count...

I'm in the middle of building my F-14 and I'm curious if anyone has tried a Grayson Super Mega Jet on it?

Also, aside from the recommended weight, what's the heaviest you guys have flown this?

With a SMJ and a 2100mah I'm sure I'll be pushing 20oz. But, all my other parkjets, including my RCPower's, are all around 20oz and fly just fine. Really, out here in NE where we almost always have wind they seem to perform best a little bit heavy. My F-117 flies much better with a 2100 vs a 1500.

middle size

Now i need to figure out how to scale the PDF to a size 1/2 way from the stock size and the big one..that should be just right..by the way as all of mine have been very heavy and also on the big one ,, on the top plate that holds the wings on.lol..i have installed a small carbon tube and also glassed it top and bottom with 1/2 oz glass and thin CA..makes it so very stiff and strong and in all the wings even the small ones i have cut the wings in one peice and 2 carbon tubes..built stock it's fine but built heavy and fasy the wings will flex to the point that to sweep forward you have to do a little bump down to unload the wings..moding the wings as i have ..i found that they sweep forward fine under speed..

Did you install the tubes going from wing-to-wing or front-to-back on the upper deck that holds the wings on?

I'm a big fan of reinforcement. On my maiden flight of my RCP Mig29 the elevators snapped off leaving only the motor flap. I used some flat CF to bridge the motor flap to the control surfaces which worked very well. I've done similar reinforcements to the rear section of my F117 as well as having CF on the leading edge of that one.

Swing wing servo

Guys,
I place an order for an F14 last week and I want to order the components I will be using (motor, speed controller, servos, etc.) and I have a question about the swing wing servo.
Is this servo to big (in size):
http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...2.5kg_/_.14sec

Is 2.6kg ok?

I also planning to use this motor:
http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...idProduct=5655

I would appreciate some comments from people that have already built/flown the plane.
Thanks in advance!
