Mystery Lipo Battery

I have a mystery here. I bought one of these for a sample. When I received it I chuckled and thought is this really a 450 mah ? Look how small the Mystery 900mah 15C is next to the Megapower 1000mah 15C, and for grins I threw my MP2100 15C with just over 150 cycles and still going strong.

I tried it on my brushless Walkera 4 that weighs about 300g flying weight.
The mystery :

How long does the flight last ? Did that tiny battery actually carry that relatively large Walkera 4 ? Did the heli fly well with it? Did I order any more ? How many test flights do I have on the sample ? Why does the battery have flames on the lable (stolen from someone else's mystery) ? What was the voltage per cell after flying it for however long I did ? Did it run hot like the flames on the lable ? Did the heli balance ok with it ?
Did it get to the US from China in 10 days ? Was it really only $7.87 and free shipping ? And was it really from DealExtreme.com ?

It's a mystery ! Hey they all did it to me.

Spill the beans. How did it go? How is the pack working out for you?

I am worried about being the jerk that messed up the Mystery.

I guess it remains a mystery then. I wonder if I should investigate myself.

I PM'd those guys, I was just joking.

On my Walkera 4 with BLDC main, I get 8 minutes takeoff to landing, 3.79 to 3.81v/cell disconnected voltage, = ~80% discharge. They run barely warm, maybe 80*F when 40*F outside. The heli almost balances with no battery so balance is not an issue with me. I bought 3 more.
The heli flies SO much better with these than my heavier 76g 2 cell lipos, 1500 10C True RC. But I can fly an easy 15 minutes with the 1500's. For now, I'll take the significant improvement in flight characteristics and shorter 8 minute flight I get with these batteries. The lighter batteries will also help extend tail motor life.
There has been mention about Mystery batteries life cycle count, but I talked with a competitive battery seller who says there was a bad run of cheaper lipos from last winter through mid summer 2007. Supposedly there will be improvement in this newer batch of low cost lipos. They were trying to cut costs and failed that attempt.

I ordered a couple on Nov 4. As of today, my invoice on their site says those batteries are "Ordering" where everything else shipped. Since I placed the order, the description of those says "Typically ships in 2 to 3 business days*"

The big mystery is when they'll get more.

Same thing with my second order. I can fly on what I have for now. They are legitamate, so they probably (surely ?) sold out at that price.

Greetings

This is my first post ever on RCgroups so Greetings and Salutations to everyone and anyone who could possibly care. TaDaa! I ordered two of the Mystery lipos from DealExtreme on Thursday after reading this thread, and got an email tonight saying they had SHIPPED! I am a sucker for a deal on a perfect size new lipo for my fleet of honey bee FP helis and could not resist this, even though I have 6 megapower 850mah 7.4v which all work great. Thanks for the info Chophop.

Just be on the ground at 8 minutes with the 300g FP's and you will probably get 200 cycles from it, unless it is only $7.87 because it is a lipoo not lipo. I am hoping they are a loss leader, a rediculously cheap deliberate loss, intended to introduce a brand or product.
My BLDC Walkera 4 flies so well with this battery that I have been prefering it over my MX400 and DF36. ? Say what ? Yep, It is pleasantly maneuverable that light.

I agree, adding lightness is often a good thing. What does your mystery weigh? They said 1.76oz/49g on DE website. I was hoping that was packaged weight. My MP 850's are 44g. They run a good ten minutes.

My Megapower 1000 15C is 54g and the Mystery 900 15C is obviously lighter. As long as you get the same quality as I did, don't worry . They are great.

Test Report

Ordered 2 on the 14th. Received them on the 24th. They weigh 44 grams each, same as my megapower 850's. They seem to be a shade more dense, if thats possible, as they are at least a millimeter or so thinner but otherwise about same size as MP's. Tested both in my stock honey bee FP for 6 or 7 minutes. My first impression is they have more "BURST" power than the megapowers which may be because these are 15c and MP's are 12c. Motor seems louder and stronger. Very nice for the price. First time Ive ever ordered from Hong Kong.
