After a few hard landings my landing gear is trashed.Instead of wasting money on the crappy stock gear I'm looking for a stronger set that will mount without a lot of work....any ideas?

Fly without gear, handlaunch and belly landing could not be easier Looks better without dangly legs and wheels anyway.

I ordered this plane on December 31th from Motionrc.com and received it today! (even with the holidays). Its a nice looking plane and was pretty easy to put together. I had a little problem with my aileron not working, so I went to the website and spoke with Mark via their chat program. He is very knowledgeable and really helped resolve my problem. (My wire had come loose even after I had taped it together). Mark also told me that its now FREE Shipping for anything over $99, and Flat rate shipping $5 for anything under $99. He has about 20 Art-Tech F4U Corsair ARF EPO Version 2 in stock as of right now.
**NOTE** This is the new EPO foam version of the Art-Tech F4U Corsair
SKU: A2114A

Its my 2nd plane after the DSM Supercub. Now Im going to go back through the forum and see if there is anything I need to do to this plane before I maiden it this weekend.

Im using
OrangeRx R610 Spektrum DSM2 6Ch 2.4Ghz Receiver (w/ Sat Port)
Spektrum DX4E Transmitter

I used the information in this manual to link the system.
http://www.art-tech.com/english/pdf/...-EN-Manual.pdf

Here is a copy of the actual manual that came with the plane

Cheers everyone,
Dutch

I'm wondering what the difference in weight between the two versions is? Anything else?...Is the steel weight still in there?

I dont know where to even look for it. I am reading through the forum to find information on this version of the plane. The manufacture date is 2010, so I am assuming that many people already have this plane with #86 on the side. Im up to page 250 and dont see anyone talking about this particular one, they all are talking about the EPS version that breaks apart when crashing. I did notice that this version has the white dot problem. There are little beads on the wings that come off easily when moved around creating little white dots. My plane didnt come with a pilot, so I contacted the support to see if they can get me one. It comes with 2 props, I also bought 2 extra props. One other thing I noticed is the front cover on the nose of the motor is a plastic thing that pops on versus the steel one that threads on.

Art-Tech F4U Corsair ARF EPO Version 2

Other observations.

1. All the stickers are already on the plane. The only thing I had to do with the ARF was put a rx, attach the wheels to the wing, attach wing, attach the tail, attach prop and plug in all the wires, then sync with my transmitter. I didnt put any glue yet. The tail and wing attach with screws and the wheels just pop in.

I saw a picture of the plane that has #19 on it in a previous post. When attaching the tail, there was a little grommet that you had to thread a bar through. This grommet is not on the #86 plane, so its easier to attach.

Quick update.

The Art-Tech F4U Corsair ARF EPO Version 2 has a weight in the front as well. Its located in the same spot at the roof of the cowl.

I took off today and just one lap around the field I knew I shouldn't be up there. It got so overcast I was having trouble seeing it and losing orientation. So I swing wide to come in to land and fly right into the back of a tree. I must have hit the last top 5 feet of this huge tree. Oh well. Gorilla glue time.
