Is it possible to fit 3 of those 5s packs in, or just 2?

Looks like I know what plane Pilebuck is getting next! Dbox has an electric one he did a thread on over in the High Performance forum. It's a sweet flyer. Wish I had the bucks to get one too!

She sure is on big MOFO! Here are some pictures next to what used to be a reasonably large Pike... Bigger in ALL dimensions.

Sam, I rekon that it could be possible to fit 2 of those 60C Neu 4100 packs in a 5S config. Definitely possible to fit 3 of a smaller capacity, in a long skinny chain - heaps of room in that big bad fuzotage. Certainly more electrons than most mere mortals have adrenalin...

Abdullah, it's a Neu 1512 1.5D, Neu 5S 4900 50C pack, and CC125. RFM spinner and 18x16 prop. (the spinner has been kustom painted red ) I have a bunch of other prop configs to sample for varied levels of "output"

Chets, if you follow the threads I am sure you will be relieved that "camotage TM"was donned as recently as yesterday

Wow Sam, it must be full of carbon that airplane. Full of carbon=very stiff wings. The wings on my Eagle are double carbon and they still don't weight anywhere near that, i think there around the 600gram mark. Well i think i made my decision on my next project...a B.Ceres...

Good on you Sam, i hope you enjoy her buddy...

it's a Neu 1521 1.5D, Neu 5S 4900 50C pack, and CC125. RFM spinner and 18x16 prop.

Sam,You must of being kidding.
If it is a single 5S ,Your plane will fly for about as far as You can toss it.
If You meant 2 pc 5S packs ,thay are not going to fit fuse.
There is some sort of mistake ,somewhere ,or whoever made this "power"suggestion simply hates You.

This power system should work if the motor has the 5.2:1 gearbox on it. I'd consider the 20x13 prop over the 18x16, which is a racing prop, while the big Ceres is more of a truck than a race car... : )

I do mean truck in a good way! It's a wonderful big plane.
The 18x16 prop was designed for F5B planes which are much lighter and smaller than the Big Ceres. With a big glider like this, one can get better thrust and acceleration with a lower-pitched, large diameter prop.
