I lost my Art hobby 2.5 meter Sierra today up on Little Mountain.
We searched for a couple of hours but couldnt find her.


The picture below shows her before I painted the tips blue.The plane has a yellow fuse and wings.the bottom of the wings are white with friends names as stripes.

Whereabouts did it go down? On Santa Ana days, planes can get blown across to the hill in front when bad things happen.

Not really sure where it went down.Last time I saw it ,was near the comm towers.It might have blown over the backside.

Buddy of mine lost a Destiny on maiden there on a Santa Ana day. He took his eyes off it and it was gone. Luckily it had an alarm in it and we could BARELY hear it. Took us almost 30 minutes to realize it had been blown left and all the way across into the backside of the next hill in front. It was almost an hour-long retrieval. Neither one of us could figure how on earth it got there.

Hope you get it back...did you have your contact info in it? Flyers as a rule seem to be a pretty honest bunch.

I have photos of the bottom some where.If I can find the photo ,I'll post it.

I came up later with my rugrats. We'll keep an eye out for it. We're up there every weekend.

Yellow plane on a smooth burnt black hill, should look like a school bus.

I think there is a dragon cave with a great collection of slopers up there, most of us have lost something up there.

Hey Nauga, unless you lost it in the last week or two, it's nothin' but ashes! Little Mountain is COMPLETELY BURNED. The good part is if your plane goes down, you can find it now, right?.......DJ

Between the black mountain and the color of the plane one would think it would be an easy spotting, but bill and I looked for two or three hours and nothin It may be down in the houses at the bottom of the hill.!!! The plane was pointed north, coming in for a landing, coming back towards where we were flying and the winds were strong enough to blow it back across the road going up to the tower but it lost sight fifty yards out from the towers and we (bill) walked the crevice directly down from the position of the plane but no go.The normal SW facing bowl is cleaned out from the fires and it was walked very methodically almost down to the houses. It is very frustrating to have a bright colored plane on a black backdrop and not have a clue. But thank everyone for the help and the guys we flew with did get some decent flying in in spite of what happened. Hope ya find it Cruzsin and Ill go back with ya if you want to make another try at it jimmy

sounds like a plane with a camera would be helpful to cover more ground than you can on foot. wish i had one to offer.

Maybe spread some flyers around the local 'hood, case someone found it in there yard. Look up in trees{if any left} and powerlines. Lost a mustang once, a golfer noticed up in a tree. If you form a searching party, let me know.

With the week i have coming up at work(I like to call it He** week),my time will be somewhat limited. Not much time for myself(as in none) until next weekend

Little mountain is in San Bernadino.Took about 1 hour and 20 minutes to get there.Not where I usually fly but friends wanted to fly there during Santa Ana's.
