Another thing about these batts that I like is that if they have them in the USA store, they can be at my house in 3-5 days max, also shipping is only like 10 bucks.

Thanks for this. I think I'll study during my holiday break from school and go take the test. Have you found a testing location/total cost yet?

Is there some kind of local Ham inspector monitoring the area? Just wondering what are the repercussions from not carrying a license. From watching the slide, all there is are coordinators in areas. Which are Ham operators themselves. Lastly, what is the difference of owning a cell phone? After all, its all radio waves at different frequencies. Not challenging policies here just trying to reason it out. AMA license makes sense because it's an insurance policy somewhat.

Well heres a list of frequencies for virginia beach..
http://www.radioreference.com/apps/d...nses&ctid=2954

I have not seen any 900mhz band or the 1.3 yet But my understanding is its better to have a license than not have one.But with that said most of the equipment that we use are not necessarilly FCC certified I will leave you with that thought..

I called the local ham place but have not heard back from them.

I have started to study for the test but found out that they do have classes but the last time I checked they were looking for a location..

Thats all the info I have..

First off there is no specific liscene for the frequency your using. Just an overall ham radio licsence. You can go up in levels and have other frequencies open up but that's all. The reason for one is because of the frequencies and more specifically the power output

I have been told by many the test is not that difficult and inexpensive. I would rather just have it for no other reason then to cover my rear. Once you get one it's good forever.

Hey guys found a good spot for multirotor and FPV flying. It's the huge open field by walmart on the corner of Lynnhaven and princess Ann. Just did a flight there and man is it nice. Name: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1352928351.194738.jpg

Yeah that looks like a winer.

You know you have been bitten by the FPV bug when everywhere you go you think "this would be a cool place to fly FPV."

I've been trying to find new places to fly to get more footage for videos and decided to swing y there on my way home from work. I've also looked several times for a place to launch and recover my glider to do some filming of the tankers out at lynnhaven anchorage.
