None that I am aware of that are useful for RC applications. If anybody else has any info on Panasonic lipos that are commercially available a link would be appreciated.

Wow gigantic work. Grats

I got a suggestion for you. Could it be possible to keep the table heading on top of the page while scrolling down into table. Tables are huge and I have to scroll up and down to find the number and their signification.

Thanks for the recommendations guys. A field for "date of last update" will be added to the database.

As for headings, we will be improving upon the functionality in the coming weeks by moving the data over to a database format, so hopefully we aren't fighting column headings and other spreadsheet limitations in the near future.

We would love to hear some ideas from other RCG members about how to make the data more useful and easier to find what you are looking for. Here are a few ideas that I have been kicking around:
  • Preset custom search buttons (i.e. TRex 3S Lipos, 450 Tail Servos, Head Holding-Digital Gyros)
  • Filter by range (Lipo = 50g<weight<80g, 800mAh<capacity<1200mAh, 10C<C rating<20C, Length<90mm, Price<$25)

David some more ideas for the Servo section (hope it's OK to mention here):

a) Duplicate the speed and torque columns for 4.8V and 6.0V (and btw, 8.0V servos are on the way so if changing the table, plan ahead )

b) Add a column for spline style/servo-arm compatibility. Many brands are compatible with Futaba/JR/Hitec servo arms and that's valuable to know. The value in the column would be a brand, the servo's own brand by default, but JR or Futaba or other where compatible.

c) Search should allow matching on an empty field so that a list of items that have no data for a given column can be generated.

Do NiCads or NiMH need to be balanced also?

LiPo seem so confussing, too much trouble. What about the older NiCads and NiMd or the Li-ions, can they be discharged and charged without going through this balancing bit?

No, Other types of cells don't need to be balanced like Lithium. Lithium is more dangerious that any other type of battery because (even thou they are getting safer) if they get too out of balance, it could cause a fire. If a LiPo gets too low on voltage or charges to too high of voltage, That could be dangerous. If a cell gets too out of balance, it could cause this situation to happen. With other types of batteries, even as they can get out of balance, The danger isn't near as much.
