i saw your fleet in your profile and all the planes are very nice. i am a newbie and i took a
long decision between skyfly and slowstick before deciding to get the EZ. so you not planning to put aileron on it?

the guys would love to see your plane at the Multiplex EasyStar 2007 forum.
don't forget post a video of your maiden!!!

I'm still very new at this too...

I did alot of reading and looked at all the mods others had done, before starting on mine, so I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted to do.

When I get it finished (or at least ready for maiden) I will probably put a link, or post some pics, on the EZ* thread.

I don't plan on doing ailerons on this one. Maybe if I get a 2nd EZ* I might do that one.
The plan for this EZ* is to do FPV flying and I thought... simpler might be better.

Good choice getting the EZ*, a Slow Stick is great too.

I do think I made a mistake in using a carbon tube for the main support in the fuse...
I have the feeling it may crack on a hard touch down.
If I were to do that over I would use a brass tube there too, like the front support...

ply reinforcement for the landing gear.
the brass tube is for the front part of the L/G wire...
the way I land it may not be enough!

want to be able to ROG/Land on hard surface without getting "belly rash"

I know, I know, I could use tape on bottom of fuse. I just like planes with L/G.

i just belly mine with tape. but i would like to take off with a LG if i had it.
what battery are you planning on using??

well... I bought a Thunder Power 3 cell 2200 mah but it is too light,
even with the batt all the way forward, still tail heavy.
I don't want to add any dead weight so...
gonna have to see how much more it will take to balance,
try to find a batt that fits and is heavy enough.
I do have some nimh it will balance with but really want to run a lipo...

2200mah is still too light??
i might get a 3000mah then...
but you are doing FPV anyway so your camera should add some weight to balance it.

yes, the camera will add weight to the front but I plan to maiden without the cam...
guess I could add the dead weight to simulate the camera gear...

for flying without the camera I was thinking 3300 or 3600 mah

my EZ* may be more tail heavy than stock...

I did add a balsa rudder and elevator...

3300 or 3600 will give you so much flight time...
i heard some people can get nearly an hour of mixed flight time with just the 2200mah.
hey how heavy is your 2200mahh batt?? 3600 is about 260g so see if that will balance it.

The Thunder Power 2200 batt weighs 6.1 oz. 174 gr.
I have not checked yet to see what it will take to balance the EZ*.
