Gettin' started on the wing. Main, LE and TE spars.
Check out this video...
It's a short vid of a guy who has come up with a way to fold the wings via the radio. Does anyone know if there's a aftermarket kit with all the gear to make this happen? |

Here is what I know of.
http://home.comcast.net/~rich2001/osa/ You may want to check out some of the Brian Taylor Corsair build threads at RCSCALEBUILDER.COM. I believe this is the hardware they are using. If fact, I believe that particular wing in the video is a Brian Taylor Corsair wing. I might also suggest you contact Richard (aka rwright142). I'm sure you have been following his Brian Taylor Corsair build thread in this forum. He might be setting his corsair up with folding wings as well. Ken |

Twinwarbirdflier, go for it! Like Skaweee and others suggested, there are never enough Corsair builds! hehehe
Definitely check out Oregon Scale Aviation (the link Skaweee posted above) as they have a lot of 'after market' items that add scale realism to the Corsair. The video you posted is Buz's (OSA owner) Corsair. Here's a couple others from Pappy883. He is building one of the most scale Corsairs I have ever seen: F4U Corsair RC Plane Wing Folding by Pappy883
Front & Rear View of F4U Corsair w/Wings Folding by Pappy883
It will be quite awhile before I start on the folding wings on my Corsair because I am concentrating on the cockpit at the moment. I built the TF Corsair but for display only (www.putfile.com/rwright142) and it was not a difficult first build but it was challenging. The main reason is that it was my first large scale warbird build. Read the manual several times before you start on a part. Keep in mind to build it light in case you do decide to add extras to your project. Good luck and keep posting! |
