Tippecanoe T37 video

I would appreciate any opinions/comments regarding the performance of the T37 after watching this video:

http://www.modelsailboat.com/Images/reg05lg.wmv

Other videos are available at the site.

Some info on the boat:
http://www.modelsailboat.com/t37sail.html
http://www.tboats.com/rc-sail.html

I'm not concerned with what's being sailed in my area or AMYA registrations. I'm just trying to determine if this boat performs well.

Thanks,
Jack

Do you like to build?

If so,then T37 could be a good R/C sailboat for you. It is probably one of very few R/C sailboat kits currently available where you have to actually build the hull. And the hull is made up of 5 pieces of mahogany ply. The kit is quite comprehensive. It comes with laminating epoxy (West Systems), cabosil, epoxy brush and all necessary hardware. I have one in the works. The only factor preventing me from completing mine is space. Once I attach the keel to the hull, I KNOW! I will have a very difficult time finding a place to put her inside the house. Space IS a premium here in Tokyo!
BTW, when placing an order, dont forget to request sail colors. They are quite accomodating in this respect. A nice customer service.

The boat designer said that they have seen very little differerence when racing the T37 with or without a vang, although it may help some downwind. If desired, a boom vang could be added easily.
I too think they are beautiful boats, with apparently good peformance, and will be fun to build. So I ordered one today.

The conditions in the video would not make a Voyager or a SeaWind perform a lot better.
All things considered, the relative small sailsurface seems to fit the circomstances.

I try to avoid sailing my Voyager in such chop, the location in the video would make me consider to drive to the other shore...

Regards, Jan.
