Mr. Lin

Today (Thursday) is Thanksgiving Day here in the US, a time to reflect on what we have. My kit was released from customs yesterday so it might get delivered on Friday!

I will get in a few EPO airplanes of each of the four available models each next week, as well as some GWS A-4.

I wonder when the GWS-A-4 will be available in EPO? Any schedule so far available?

Also, can we see the classic GWS models (or some of them) in EPO soon?

Sven

Delivered!

Came just a few min ago, anyone else in CAnada get thiers yet??

I must say that each new plane that I have built from GWS (foam) the foam molding process has gotten better with each one.

I recently build the C130 for a friend of mine, and spent a significant amount of time sanding the foam to get rid of the little injection nipple marks before paint (that was done up as the blue angels support hercules)

The next was the F15 and it has much smaller ones, so small that I didn't bother sanding them off (except inside the intakes)

The A4 is amazing, the lines are great, and the rivet marks are amazing, and the best part.... NO SMALL NIPPLING anywhere on the outside of the fuse!! LOVE IT!

Keep it up GWS, the planes get better and better looking!

Whoever does a build and test thread on this, please make it as detailed as possible, especially on anything you might do to the duct work, fan, etc. I plan to pick one of these up as my first EDF, it looks great! Just in time too, I'm just about to finish up my PT-17 (now that's a bit of a change )

Thanks,

Andy

How have you been testing these Mr. Lin?

And if that's the case.........are you saying that my fan puts out less than the 586 grams of thrust (no inatke or exhaust) it was supposedly tested at by GWS?

It's true that a fan puts out less thrust with no intake ring and no exhaust tube, but wouldn't one think that GWS should test them with intake ring and an exhaust tube?

skyhawk & tailslide5,

My colleague at GWS Taiwan measured the thrust with the intakes, he installed the EDF75 on GWS A4, so there's intakes and exhaust but he did not use the exhaust tube. The thrust he meausred was 600 grams (21.19 oz).

Adding exhaust tube could be better, but it depends on the length of exchaust on the jet, and the tube itself.

That in production line, tested without inlet ring by power supply with too much lost of long wire connection.

It will be more when installed. We had measured in A4 after long tube lost... still more than 600+g with 2200mAh 20C 3 cells.

However, I rather supply 3000mAh 12C to get longer flight duration, although a little heavier of the pack weight.

I got mine today - (sigh) - a quick look and then packed away for a cross country move. First impressions are all smiles!
