Best price for a Multiplex Profi 4000?

Planning on buying a Profi 4000 transmitter but need to know where the cheapest place is to buy one. I need to get the shift switch, side sliders with the transmitter as well. Thanks!

Thanks for the information Harry and Haldor. Do either of you know if it is common for RC sailplane pilots to get the Profi 4000 with side sliders on both sides of the transmitter or just on the left side? Before getting one I need to know this one last thing. Thanks!

Side sliders? Do you mean the two sliders either side of the front centre of the case? It comes with both of them fitted as standard.

By side sliders I mean sliders like the ones on the JR10X, Futaba 9Z, Futaba 9cap, Airtronics stylus etc. They are on the sides of the transmitter case not on the front of it. Over here in Canada and the USA a lot of people like this feature for the flaps, etc.

Sliders on the side are not a Multiplex fitted item. If you have seen that then the user must have fitted them. I have a rotary dial "rescued" from an old JR that I intend to fit to the side of my 4000.

in the USA the official Multiplex service guy, Ernie in Payson AZ, fits the side sliders and the shift (Futaba or Multiplex) switch to your 3030 or 4000.

try one of the Multiplex dealers listed in the website. when I bought my 3030 the cost was less than listed on the Multiplex website.

Hi Bernard,

I fly sailplanes with my Profi 3030, and personally, I wouldn't bother with side-mounted sliders. The top mounted ones are just fine for even molded-TD/F3J work.

Not sure if you're a thumb or 2-finger flier, but I don't think it makes a difference here.

Seeing as how MPX just got bought out by Hitec, I think finding a new Profi (of any description) in North America may be a challenge for the next little while. MPX USA may not be around for much longer.

I'd ask around, maybe on the Soaring Exchange, and see if you can find a used one. One of my friends here in town just bought an unused, year old Profi 4000 for $700 cdn. I looked long and hard at that deal before I told him about it, but I can't see needing the extra functionality of a 4000 (only my scale ships nudge the limits of my 3030).

If you're interested, I work at a hobby shop here in Calgary, and we're getting a few 3030's in that will sell for about $580 Cdn (TX/Module). Call the store at 403-291-2733 if you're interested.
