Nice work and vid on a very rarely modelled subject.
It would be good to see it flying on a site where you have some more elbow room Have you seen the thread Clancy did on his Be2c?: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=659358 Look forward to some more vids KiwiKid |

Nice model Bad. I've always admired the BE2e especially since I learned that a man with the same name as me, David Davis, flew one of these and was Richtofen's 51st victim.
I've got Ray Scott's old plan of the BE2e, drawn to 1/6th scale. I plan to build it some day once I've finished building Telemasters, (I'm a Hobby Lobby dealer) and repairing some of the other models I have in stock. Happy Landings Monza Red. PS. What news on the Albatros. |

Thanks, David. the Albatros has been on the back burner for quite a while. I sheathed the fuselage with balsa for a more realistic look, and the weight wound up being a bit more than I'd estimated. I figure it'll still be flyable but not with a GWS 350....a brushless upgrade will probably be necessary and then it will probably be a little too fast for my comfort level.
Interesting about that BE2 pilot...it doesn't seem much of a fair match as I believe Richthofen was flying an Albatros at the time. It must have been like shooting doves off a clothesline.

Monza Red. You are correct, but his surname spelling is Davies............a Welshman from Cadoxton-Barry.25 years old at time of death. His observer/gunner was from Toronto, Canada, George Rathbone. His body like that of the pilot David, Evan, Davies, were never found. Ian |
