Enlarged Bostonian (Pup/Prairie Bird) for S400
I'm planning on scratch-building an enlarged Prairie Bird using the Peck-Polymer's 16" kit's plan as a guide. Here's what I had in mind:
Roughly 60" span with about 500 square inches
Speed 400 with 4:1 inline gearbox
8 cell 500AR pack
The gearbox, S400, prop and battery pack will be taken out of my electric 2M Bird. Do you think this power system will fly a model this large? I am planning on building the model extremely light with minimal plywood (except motor mount and polyhedral braces).
I would really like the plane to remain in the size mentioned and will make changes to the power system if necessary. Any suggestions? What would you recommend for a brushless set-up if I decide to upgrade?
Thanks for any suggestions.

Can you say Enlarged Bostonian with out the parental controls kicking in
Have you estimated the weight. Sounds like you better build it Light.
Sounds like a fun project.
