If all else fails... you can always send your stuff to soldiers...

http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=708611

Here is a thread you can all check out. These Marines are in Al Asad, Iraq (crappy place, I've been there). If you cant find anyone else to give your stuff to, I would say, these guys are very deserving.

Well, considering that they started out over there by making a plane from some scrap cardboard, I would say yes.

Great to hear you want to helpout too Ihor. Im sure they will be very happy with anything that comes their way.

Laine.

PS, just so you know, www.toddsmodels.com has also started a fund for those who want to help but dont have gear to send. You can donate cash. Todd then buys the things they need at cost and sends them over. Its a great setup for sure and very generous by toddsmodels.

so your saying you had all the electronics but you made the planes from cardboard?
wow most the time the hard thing/most expensive thing is the electronics the plane is cheaper than dirt.

Thanks for kickin that in for us Qban... your the man!

Just so you all know, Qban Flyer and his friends at www.thercforum.com are also helping out these Marines. On top of that, they are the reason that 10 Army Pilots have complete RTF 40 size and up trainers (mines a beautiful Cessna 182). THAT is supporting the troops if I have ever seen it.

Futabafreak, I am not the one who made the plane from cardboard, that was Marine SGT Masters and his crew that is in Iraq right now.

Laine.

Glad to hear someone is organizing support for these guys...I'm deployed at the moment as well. I'm fortunate enough to be in a much better location than most--the Hilton compared to where most of these guys are living. For anyone who has spare stuff laying around, please consider donating it to the Soldiers and Marines who are stuck in lousy, remote locations for extended periods of time in the service of their country. They have done some pretty amazing things with little to no equipment--imagine what they can do with some decent stuff! Stay safe guys!

Correct link (URL) to access the RC Forum is: http://thercforum.com/phpBB2/index.php

Pix of Sgt. Masters (USMC), his cardboard plane and others attached below. It is pixs like the ones below that motivated us to get them RC planes, radios, batteries and whatever it is they need in order to relax whenever they have a chance to.

It is the least all of us can do. His address is posted below in case some of you may wish to send them something. Anything and everything is useful to them all.
