Bad reciever problem

My recievers range SUCKS!! Ive seen videos on youtube of people flying there honeybee king 2 far away with the stock Tx/Rx. Whats wrong with mine? I cant even go ten feet! Can you post pics of how the antenea should be? Also it has a really bad interference problem. It takes forever for the gyro to initialize because whenever I plug in the heli the gyro plus the motor and every servo gets affected by the interference. Thanks a bunch guys!

Have you had a crash or dropped your TX?
10ft sounds like no antenna at all.
Antennas should be extended completely.
Never wrap the antenna around any carbon frame parts.
After I ran my system for a while with the antenna hanging loose for a while, I wrapped my RX antenna around a 7" long paper soda straw and then attached the straw to the frame struts with a few small rubberbands.

First off I'd recommend you test with another RX on your frequency to determine if the TX is not transmitting or the receiver is not receiving.

I would think that range of a std TX should be more than 50ft probably closer to 500ft.

If it was on 72m I would find a friend with a hitec optic-6 or a similar radio with the all channel spectra module to test out your RX.
Don't take the crystal out as that can also be the problem.
It would take about 10 min to set up someones TX to work with your RX.
If they only got 50ft then your problem would be the RX.
If they got 500 ft then your TX is probably off freq or bad.
