Hello

You may want to consider paddles instead of blades. Bigger light paddles will probably help out a lot. BTW the mikado carbons work just fine on my Logo for 3D but mine is also flybarless...

Shorter blades will increase blade loading, *may* roll quicker since they have less mass and inertia, but they will definitely respond to collective with less authority than larger blades and will need more pitch to grab the same amount of air.. Since the blade loading is higher, the heli will feel "heavier" and not as floaty as larger blades... I'm not saying larger blades are the holy grail, but if you want 3D power then you want to grab as much air as possible.

What blades are you currently using and what is the setup?

My favorite 3D blades on all my heli's are the RT's. Here my vote goes to the RT515's.

agreed, the best 500-515mm blades seem to be the 515mm Rotortechs.

my current setup is 7s a123 on a19T pinion with a century 600+ motor...my flight times suffer at about 4.5 mins and the hel;i still isnt really that balistic...it bogs when ticktocking. Im thinking about getting the align 600l or xl motor and running a 4s 6000-8000mah prolite pack for better duration and reasonable power.

Your bogging is not a result of motor, but more of battery energy available on demand and disc loading (battery weight)

Your A123 under load only deliver about 2.6 Volts under our type of heavy loading and are only of about 2100mah. So even at a 20C demand burst rate, the total power on demand is relatively low compared to a good 4 cell or 5 cell lipo pack. Wattage peak of your A123 is about 2.6 x 7 x 2.1 x 20 = 764 watts. That of a good 5000mah 4 cell pack is 3.7 x 4 x 5 x 20 = 1480 watts. BIG DIFFERENCE!!

Personally I have found the combo of the 600+ motor on an 11T pinion with the light (not heavy) 5S1P/3700mah/20C TP or FP packs a great 3D combo. Head speeds of 1980 with flight times of 6 minute. The battery is warm (not hot) and the ESC and motor are cool!! So I expect a pretty long life from it all also.

3.7 is 50% discharged on lipo while 2.6v is totally out on the a123's...i think your numbers are wrong sir!

I am just going by the numbers from my eagletree monitoring system....that are also corraborated by tests in various magazines.

Note that I always said "good Lipo" packs. As I have tested some that rate themselves on their labels and in their ads as 4000mah and 15C and I would not class them as more then 2200mah at 8C.
