23 1/2 is correct for the super cub floats
They work great are cheap and easy to install - so they may be a hair short from perfect scale but close enough for me. She looks very real in the air.

Some may recall I sold my E-Flite Taylorcraft awhile back. Although it's a beautiful looking plane, I found it didn't suit my flying style and the very small field I fly from. If I had a bigger venue, I would have kept it...

Well I couldn't stay away for long... so I built a Pat Tritle Taylorcraft that uses some of the E-flite color scheme with some unique touches. At 1/3'rd the weight it's a featherweight by comparison.

AUW = 9.4oz
Wingspan = 39"

P.S. While this isn't an E-Flite TC, I figured I post some pics just to show what is possible.

Great job! Looks awesome. We need more kit builders!

Thought I might put up a pic or 2 of my old tcraft. It has a park 480 1020kv, cc pheonix 45, cc ubec, ar8000+sat, tm1000, 5055mg's all around and a bunch of the telemetry stuff in it with the exception of the airspeed indicator. Great flying plane and looks great in the air.

I bought a Taylorcraft a few weeks ago to make a float plane. Purchased 26 inch floats from seaplanesupply. I read this whole thread, that took a few weeks of spare time. Thanks for all the great tips. Will send a pic when I get further along in the build. I am reinforcing the the landing gear area and adding mounting points for my rx, floats, etc.

You will love this plane. It is a great flyer on floats or wheels. I fly mine on floats in the summer and on wheels the rest of the year.

I have been wanting to put some floats on mine as I live literally 2 mins from the lake here, but I have heard quite a bit about the airframe not handling the extra weight well, the structure for the wing mount is a bit weak. Mine is already a bit on the heavy side with all the telemetry gear in it, I guess I could beef up the cabin and mounts for the wing to pull it off, but I really dont want to add more and more weight to it, it flys fantastic as it is. Im always hesitant to pull any decent G with it, I have other stuff that loves that abuse. Have any of you guys running floats done anything with the wing mount structure or are you all stock?

Just ordered a TC today at my LHS and won't get it for about a week. I'm excited. Has anyone got a suggestion for a pilot? Will be watching this thread until I maiden my TC.

Well I have a 480 and a 450 on the shelf, but I think I will probably go with the 480 unless someone here talks me out of it. I usually fly an Eflite Advance 25E so I'm looking for a milder flying aircraft. I have all the accessory equipment in rock already so I'm ready to go once the TC arrives. Any suggestions on any aspects of this build will be appreciated.

do any of you TC lovers fly with bigger wheels and no wheel pants. Just asking. I fly off of a grass field and although I do not have my TC yet I was just thinking about larger wheels and no wheel pants. I do believe that it will detract from its overall great appearance.
