ULTRON, my first 3D depron model

Hi!

here I will show my new toy from first drawing to the first flights.

I hope you will enjoy !

About ten days ago, I start to thinking about making for myself a depron model.
I browse trough plans on web and no design meet all my criteria.
I want full-fuse, airfoiled 3d model, and cute at same time.

So I take pencil and a paper to make some sketches of my future design. I start with straight lines, but soon I discover, that kind of "bionic" lines looks pretty, so I stick with curved lines on the model.

I draw the same outlines in CAD and solve the internal structure.
When I was pleased with design, I made templates for all depron parts.

I use 3 mm depron for all parts, except ailerons and ruder as they are from 6 mm thick depron for stiffnes.

Bellow you can see the initial drawing of the model, and pictures taken during the assembly of model.

And now to the flying!

I must tell, that I have no previous experiences flying 3D depron models, so it will be interested to watch my progress in trying to learn 3D.

Here are some pictures of first flights:

Thnx, Rusty and Mark!

And some technical stuff:
Wing span: 96 cm (37,8")
Lenght: 87 cm (34,25")

Materials: depron 3 mm, depron 6 mm,
plywood 3mm, plywood 1 mm, GFK 0,2 mm, carbon strips...

Motor: ROXXY 2827-34
Controller: Simprop MagicSpeed 18
Prop: APC 9 x 4,7 (now I see that I can use larger prop...let say...10/4.75 or even 11/4,75)
Accu: Flight Power EVO 20 800 mAh 3s1p

Mass ready to fly: 370 g (13 oz) (mostly thanks to generous covering with color self adhesive tape)

Wow! very nice.
If that was a kit, I would buy one of those.

Looking forward to more planes from you.

Mitja,

Is there no end to your talents first the outstanding Guppy, and
now your first foamy.

It looks and flies fantastically.

Keep up the good work.

Steve.

Plans?
They are not prepared for publishing yet.
Must correct or modify some minor details...
You need also an assembly manual and so on...

"Plans" looks like that at the moment:
