Sea Dart!

Mr. Lin,
I was thinking what would be a fun plane to have from you would be a EDF Sea Dart water plane. I would use the 64's and make it about the size of the GWS-15

hehe, I bet if they do it right, they also could stick a single 75 in there and still make a good little performer out of it.

Well you can make it without the ski, as I don't know if it would be worth the effort to build them into the model... What you could do though is add them in as optional retract units.

Mr. Lin, What do you say? It would be a first, and I would totally buy one. It's an awesome looking plane.

Here are some pics of my mico dart. It's scale in size, but the looks... Well you can tell it's my first attempt at this.. I am using a GWS EDF 50 to power this thing, but it won't see water for a while, it will do hand launching for now until I can set it up in a more waterproof setup. I know it looks cheesy, but I wasn't looking to win a contest.

Why does it look this way? This was done with no plans or three view. Just a scetch I did of the pictures here, and the mesurements from a website. I kinda just started cutting and hoped the parts would fall into place. And in three hours.

Big, fat, delta wing- always a good subject! The small intakes would be a challenge, but they could be enlarged without makign the airplane look stranger than it already does. (-:

I remember when I first saw this one in Model Aviation years and years ago.. It was the last naval seaplane contract before they turned away from seaplanes entirely in favor of aircraft carriers

Yes, the skis were retractable.

There were two versions tested, the first models with two ski's and a second single ski version which was favored after testing.

The first single ski version was a result of trying to solve damaging buffeting forces to the airframe and take-off landing handling quirks under certian sea-going conditions.

The single ski version would be a cinch.

Yeah, I know, it wouldn't be hard to do, but in the intrest of staying inexpensive, you could just make it an option.
