I just saw the Spark and I am in love! I am not familiar with the DS-75, what is the size of the unit? 75mm? Anyone here got the plane yet? Man ... I really am awe struck.

75 is the FSA, I think it's a 120 mm fan.

Kevin - I can't find any info on the fan, not even at the Schuebeler website. The 51 is a 90mm and the 94 is a 120mm. Really what is the DS-75? Hmmmm ...

The DS75 is a 110mm unit. Produces 11lbs thrust at 3000watts. It draws 96amps in the model when static,

Spark is very ok but the wing loading is a bit high.

Robert - I went there earlier on and I could not see the fan size. I emailed CompARF and hope to know if the plane can handle a 120mm fan.

Steve, What exactly does "very ok" mean?

Did you measure the efflux diameter at these specs?

Does the "bit high" wing loading really effect its landing performance.
I recall you posting that it landed nicely at Aspach.

Whistler ... thanks. Man ... 3K Watts ... I am sure its a good plane to fly. Comp ARF planes have always been good stuff. I am now into big EP planes so the battery packs are no issue for me, just have share the packs around.

High wing loading will be interesting. For me I am not worried about lift offs and flying any plane. My main concern is always, how does she land.

Still this looks like a much better buy (cheaper that is) than a BVM Electra.

It may but most here seem to think it should be flying on the 90mm fan.

Jet Power starts this weekend and I think there be more info released on the model then. I would imagine Steve will be there to cover all the EDF activity!

The Spark on 90mm fan? Most 90mm fans are not giving you 11 lbs thrust but around 5 lbs only, unless you want to really wind the unit up really high.

My thoughts exactly. I run the DS-51 on 8S at 55 amps and it produces
6.25 lbs very reliably at 1700 watts of input power. It can be pushed towards
8lbs but that is still not the watts/lb I would want to fly at.

Robert - just read the Stumax fan thread, yeah, DS-75 prob means the FSA. The Stumax is really a piece of art. So what do you fly on 8S with only 6.25 lbs thrust? A nice big U2? Hehehehee ... just teasing. Most 90mm fans are on 5S only and even then the AUW is a fair amount compared with the thrust that is achieved.

I think I am done for ... Spark ... Stumax ... Spark ... Stumax ...
