Hi Steve, my outlet is 85mm tall & 88mm wide. My previous tests with a watt meter rated to 70A would suggest that larger inlets would provide higher static watts. I hope the amps don't go through the roof once in the air...previous readings were:
11S 69A 2700W
12S 70A 2900W

On the packet the cells are rated at 20C.

Thanks Niel.

Enjoy the model!

No, none yet. I've finished the wing, but still need to do the steering, battery bay and tail servos. Once its done I'll post some.

Neil is the bottom solid red? Do you plan to add the Cross to the bottom.
Looks great,

AUW with 8s

Hi guys,
I'm playing as well to buid a spark. you guy's flying on a 8s setup, what is your all-up-weight? flying with/without retracts?
how she goes in a vertical climb?

I am looking for a lightweight 8s-Setup (with retracts) going fast and with good vertical climb performance...

cheers eJets

My 8S Spark weighs 8.8 pounds all-up.
The things to note on my Spark is that it uses 2 3700 mah 4S batteries, a 900 mah 2S receiver/servo battery, does not use the wood in the nose for the battery tray/receiver tray, does not have a rudder servo and extensions, has no brakes, pilot, or ballast, uses a micro servo for the landing gear and a micro (metal gear) for steering, has a golden RC front strut (lighter than a 5.32 wire), and uses MPI wheels all around.

As for vertical climb, it is good, but no where near unlimited,

Weight of the Parts?

Hi Sparkies

does anybody have the weights of all the parts from the spark-Kit (Fuselage, Wing, Stabilizer, canopy, ducting and so on...)?
Would be great to post the weights here....

thanks eJets

Niel, your Spark looks great! That paint scheme changes the entire look of the plane. Looking forward to some pictures of it in the air.

Now my children are back at school I can sneak the odd afternoon in, so it shouldn't be too long now. Maybe next week.
