Oh yeah, we had video doing 205mph out of the dive too with the Electra. I don't claim dive speed as level flight speed.

But you need to claim you had done 200mph level flight.

No dive was needed to make that pass. Dave (Synwpn) was there that day and can attest to that.

I think I've found the problem with my Controller. It seems the signal wire has broken free.

I've just run some tests now at 11 and 12S

11S 69A 2700W
12S 70A 2900W

These figures suggest to me that the esc or maybe watt meter (Astra) is limiting the results.

If you mean Astro flight watt meter it is limited to 70 amps.

Apparently the Eflight (Eflite?) meter will handle more current and volts than the Astro, but I decided to go the Graupner Clamp Ammeter route with DVM to avoid any problems the Eflite meter might have. It's not as convenient as an inline meter as you have to restrain the model and write down the V and A readings, then calc the watts later. You also have to install connectors on your esc for plugging the DVM into.

BTW, ref your broken wire, make sure that you restrain the signal/power lead against flexing in the time-honoured manner of binding it to something, eg a hole drilled in the cover plate, then glue the binding to secure it.

Yes, I've done that by checking all three connections and then putting a blob of hot glue over it. I've then tie wrapped it to the battery positive lead next to it.

That looks as if it'll do the job, though my 12S 6600 pack pushes out over 100A. The 12S 5000 doesn't, though.

I replaced my wheels and tires with a set of MPI wheels and tires. They are not as nice as some out there, but are easy to obtain. For fun I replaced my front wire strut with a GoldenSkys RC strut. It was fairly easy to install and looks nice. It just fits over the 5/32 wire and bolts to the retract. Now I just need to find a set of brakes for the mains and I am all set.
