Neil, the lip is wide enough to have half of it (about 6mm) covered by the exhaust tube and then there's enough for some tape to go around it. The best tape is probably 12mm wide glass strand reinforced tape as it won't split.

BTW, Bob, I noticed that you seem to have no washer under the head of the fan mounting screw - is this correct? you really need one to keep the head of the screw from pulling thru the grommet. I'm looking forward to seeing how it goes with a smaller exhaust and less power than Bob B had in his.

Thank you both, I'll try this.
I didn't use the rear disc and instead installed the whole thing and cut it off 5mm from the tail afterwards. These measurments are what it became, 85mm tall & 88mm wide.
So another variation to test...

I followed your advice in the Installation instructions in the manual and fitted washers at the bearers and on top. The top one doesn't show well in the pic.

I just did a trial run with a Turnigy 100A 12S speed controller and found it wouldn't work on 10S (or any configuration I had). I exchanged it for a Master Hacker 90 Acro and it worked fine. The limiting factor being this controller will only run to 10S, so I'm going to need another.
My 10S 3700 Rhino's with the Stumax fan read 60A 2150W from cold at a temp of 7deg outside.

The Turnigy goes into programing mode straight away and nothing else...the throttle doesn't change anything.
I have another Turnigy in my L-39, I may take that out to try before I buy something else.

I like the colors and the stripe treatment on the fuse/fin. I don`t like the insignias on the wings. And I think third color of accents stripes, like black, would really set it off nicely.

Not trying to be critical, just throwing out some ideas for something different than the next guy`s Spark. Overall, I`d say it`s a nice choice.

Looks good. At last a decent colour scheme that follows the lines of the airframe.

cant wait for this one.

Looks very nice Neil.

BTW, on 10S TP 5000 V2s I got around 2.5kW. Maybe it was a degree or so warmer. I'm using a Graupner clamp-ammeter and DVM to measure.

Will you be at Classic Jets on 12 Dec?

Gordon.

All I can say is Wow...
the spark is my next plane and I've been keeping an eye out for a good scheme.. That is just perfect and really picks up the lines of the model very well... really nice job man

Neil, that paint scheme looks great. It completely changes the look of the plane. If I get another Spark, I might have to do that one.
I got three flights with my Spark today after doing a pm on it last weekend (too windy to fly). This is a really great plane to fly.
Here is a question for Spark pilots. I have the CARF Bohetec wheels/tires. After 40 plus flights the tires are starting to wear. Where can I find replacement tires? I emailed the CARF rep and did not have any luck. He said I needed to order a whole wheel/tire and brake package. If I can't find any tires I guess I'll just switch to MPI wheels/tires.

On my 16lb Hawk with over 60 flights on it from a full-size runway with hi-friction tarmac, the Eurokit wheels with inserts have hardly any wear at all. I don't have any brakes though, which might be the difference.

http://www.eurokitlucca.it/Old_Site/...l_frameset.htm page 52, rubber wheels with aluminium rim.

Do you land with the brakes partly on?
