Tam, your plane looks great. Like the landing gear.

Hi Neil

Here is a pic of the CC 110 HV mounted. I glued two lightply plates, shaped to fit the curve, to the joiner and two strips of velcro to hold the ESC. I glued a dowel post as shown to prevent the heavy motor leads twisting the ESC on the velcro. I now need to add a deflector to force air through the fins of the ESC.

I mounted the ESC rearwards to help get the CG back. The RX battery will fit at the rear of the wing cutout, on the motor mount, in front of the bulkhead.

Bob I never had ANY issues with the CC110 over heating. I had planned on cutting openings on each side of the hatch behind the canopy glass but never found it necessary. The Spin 99 over heated and would shutdown in sub 50 F weather badly!

I had noted comments on the Jeti Spin and followed your advice and got the 110 HV. However, I wanted to make provision in case I eventually went to 11s 5000s, so I have cut the openings and was considering the deflectors. Do you think the deflectors are worth the effort?

The deflector cant hurt IMO, it doesnt add any weight and only takes 15 minutes to do. Just use the piece from the back of the plastc where you trimmed out the clear canopy. Its already the right shape and jsut needs to be trimmed down a little.

Hi Bob P
How did you hold the outlet duct on with the fan having such a narrow lip?
Thanks
Neil

Hi Neil

I sanded the jig front disc down to suit the reduced Stufan exit diameter. Noting that the oulet diameter of the fuz was less than 90 mm and taking advice from Stu that 87 mm was the way to go I sanded the rear disc to about 88 mm (the distance between the discs is less than the required duct length). Having made the duct I cut it about 3 to 4 mm short and secured it with electrical insulating tape.

Still not test flown yet. Three factors have to come together for this: mine and Terry's availability, Colerne availability and the weather.
