gear

Mine flipped all the time so I made a piano wire gear. No problems since.
Oh, I also moved the wheels 3/4" fwd.

This looks a lot like the Herr lil' somethin' extra. I flew mine with a os .10 and sold it after two years of fun. But I think it's time for another one and this might be the ticket!

Thanks for reminding me about the Lil Extra - I need to get mine out and fly it! Such a great plane.

I too had a Herr Lil extra but lost it due to a bad receiver. It's a shame they discontinued this model (though someone on RCG had offered to sell a kit they had but I was low on hobby funds so....) But this does look like a great mod to do for say a .10 LA that I have. Looking at the manual I think it would be a straightforward build with the fuel tank fitting nicely in the battery bay. Just need to beef up the firewall for the IC engine and probably go with larger wheels than stock.

Hmmmm....oh Wifey...remember when I said no more planes...

I'd do it cos I like playing with the engines.

No one in their right mind would put a cox .010 on a small model when electric offers less vibration, throttlability and better duration.

Then again, electric motors don't offer noise, stink, fun or heart.

If you like twists then this one would make a good conversion, I'd say. I wish they would make a mini tango, tho! I've had tons of twists and the tango was a step ahead and then some of the twists in the 3D/fun fly department!

It's been awhile!

I was reading in the 1/2A forums last night if 1/2 a is dead? So I thought I would share my latest project. I bought this kit at a garage Sale for $7.00 This is the same OS .10 I have used in two other projects. The roll of covering was $2.50 sold at the same garage sale. Total $9.50 for airplane. Great fun and Price Point. There isn't a rudder in the design but I might add one later.

Thats a sweet looking plane, reminds me of an mini ultra stick.

What is the AUW? I am working on my first electric to glow conversion right now and I have an OS.15LA. Just trying to get a rough idea of what to expect.

I've checked in from time to time. Not been into the little nitro's for a while. Been flying spads and profiles and foamies.

But when Valuehobby came out with their 44" sabre I had to convert it to nitro.

.40FP on a musse can pipe. Sweet power. A little heavier than the E version but that's fine. The sabre line is a very floaty bunch and the extra couple oz just adds to flight time and the ability to do higher energy 3D maneuvers.

I've talked a friend into putting an OS.15 on a mini funtana. I have him the engine after trying to put it on a Stryker airframe. It flew but man it was nose heavy and broke up in flight at the bottom of a loop :P
