Thanks for the help gents
Use the top hole in the servo control arm for the tail and the next free hole for the ailerons. I tape all the control surfaces level and line up all the rods and control horns where they go. Next I mark a spot on the Z bend rods and heat the shrink just enough at one spot to hold it in place. I remove the rods and shrink everything to fit off the plane so I don't melt the foam. Reinstall rods on servos (Make sure servos are centered) and glue the control horns down last. As for the total throws I turn them up all the way and try and get as much as possible.

As Kai said we will work on some more video next chance we get but this plane will always makes it to the field. Post #53 has a pretty good video of how it handled before the updates so now its lighter and more agile.

Dekan thanks for all the info. Just a bit of advice please.

EPP 1200 x 900 x 100 in white 20g, 30g, or common 25g cut into 10mm thick sheets $120 plus freight www.polyfoam.com.au (Victoria Office)

EPP 1800 x 800 x 100 in black 20g, 30g, or common 25g cut into 10mm thick sheets $184 can pick up myself hour drive away www.rmax.com.au (Queensland)

Is the 20g, 30g, and the common 25g the density you guys talk about. If it is which one is better?

Thanks
Rudolf

Depron is a better material to work with in my opinion. Much more rigid and a smoother result. I get mine from:

Hi rude I can,t really answer the Epp density question. The Epp I use is 20grms per litre they do some coloured stuff orange or green which is 25g per litre but the extra weight may be due to the colour....
Perhaps somebody else can chip in?

Fangar, Depron is much easier to work with. It's rigid, it cuts better & paints nicely
But....The 1st time you crash you will know why Epp rules the roost now adays.

Yeah I know the surface finish is horrible and most paint just flakes off when you crash.

The point its light and it bounces off crashes. Nuff said

Hey Dekan, mucho props on this jet, sweet design.

I just did a 60% sized depron test frame, hot glue hinges- going to drop a feigo 12mm in and see how she rips.

Great!

I shot a bit of video this morning. It was windy for the little plane at about 10-15 mph+ constant. It did fine. I hope to get the video up soon. My Video Camera is the DVDR type. I have to use up all the disc prior to closing it out. Then I can upload it to PC. Don't like to waste the discs.

Cheers,

Fangar

Frame is 15 grams w/ CF reinforcements, in depron.

The epp will be heavier for sure, but not bad at all-

I am targeting to heep the AUW under 4 oz.

Heres my build log, and a big thanks goes to Dekan for the inspiration and the design itself that I cannibalized:

Cobra, What is the width of your prop slot. I don't recommend making it bigger than it needs to be for a 4" prop....
The slot size affects the stiffness of the of the wing. If you are using a smaller prop....you dont need such a big hole!

As the postion of the slot is close to the CG this allows a broad range of motor weights to be used, nice one Kosh.
However if you are using a very light weight motor you may have to move the slot and servos rearward, and extend the fus rearward to balance the weight of the battery, Esc and RX

Hey Dekan, I realized that after I cut. No biggie, this is a tester in depron, I will bring the slot down accordingly.

Planned to keep the servos towards the rear. The feigao is about 17 grams + prop.

Cobra. you may be interested in this. It came from a wattflyer combat thread. I think this was designed for a fergiao. I think it was about the same size as mine but quite a lite style of construction.
I thought the Kosh design was better so....I built it
