Wing joiner does not connect however it is fairly long. It can be seen in these pictures.

From top to bottom the lines in the wing are, CF spar, recessed indent for servo wire and servo extension connector, hollow hole for CF joiner.


Joiner goes almost to stock aileron location.

elevator linkage

ok i got to know is the supplied elevator control snake strong enough to take high winds?

I recall my pushrod being a bit sloppy, and perhaps because of it I saved stripping my servo on a few of my soft plush landings. (every EPP landing is soft and plush right?)

You might look at alternative ways to firm it up some, or if you are really concerned, just put the horn on the top of the elevator instead of the bottom. This way you literally are pulling the rod for up (no slop) and pushing the rod for down (potentially sloppy). I think it would be safe to say that most high G or stress movements that are done, are done on the elevator when you call for up elevator. If you're into DS'ing inverted perhaps not the best option though.

Thanks for the pictures. The spars is not parallel with the current joiner either. If they were, one could have an additional joiner linked to them. Seems more logic to locate the joiner in that area (CG).

I have no expertise in the field of molded EPP, but according to Ming the designer/manufacturer the reason the spar is located where it is is due to requirements or limitations of the molding processes. You are correct on what would be an optimal location from a final product stand point though.

In short YES...... spoileron would work with a lot less aileron than you have now with the modifications you have done to your Fox! I have a old Ocelot that doesn't have a lot of aieron surface and when I deploy the spoilerons mixed with a little down elevator it works fine.
Don't forget to mix in some elevator to compensate for the nose up/down that you will get.

Is it impossible to install the rudder servo further forward? I'm just thinking it would be nice to make this a lighter build for light wind conditions.

could use a flexible pushrod so as to terminate at the rudder perpendicular to the hinge line. If you don't the servo will be working a bit harder than it needs to.

Yes, rudder servo inside the canopy and link by soft push rod.
But the Fox is light enough I think.

Thanks for the replies. I was just thinking having a servo so far back would require quite a bit of weight in the nose to compensate. If I build it with the rudder in stock position, could I still make a build that would fly in say 7-10 mph winds? If so I will just do it this way, easier.
